Man that’s awesome! I’m stuck here in Cali. I really miss fishing like I used to when I was in NY. Best of luck with the fish! I had so many good memories when my dad and I would stick the pond and our local gun club. Lots of big trout, up to 24+ inches.

I’m so jealous! Trout has always been at the top of my list but so far my only opportunity to catch them was late after the release so they just stared at me because they had already seen everything I could show them lol

I make them split the fish up no more than 25 per bag, w larger fish. No more than 50 small blue gill or red ear per bag.

That water in their tanks was bad BAAD smelled like they hadn’t changed it in a month which is truly insane to imagine how stock truck tanks could be THAT sulfuric. Zero chance those fish spiked the ammonia that bad in ten minutes. I’m resolved when I go pick up the next batch I’ll be floating them in my own tanks on site then dumping their water out an putting them in my way more professional set up

hey, I’m still in the beginning of the video, and I’ve never been on your channel before so don't know the details of the pond. but quick tip as far as having smaller fish, add more spawning grounds. Better spawning grounds = more babies.

100% I’ve been clearing the severely overgrown banks so I can dredge 12 feet out an clear all the detris off the bottom to expose the sand. It’s a 100 year old pond and has never been managed untill I inherited it three years ago. Been in my research phase the last two years and really getting hands on this year. Mapping the bottom it’s basically a desert so I’m building artificial fish cities. Hopefully I can make it a better habitat an get it producing properly

I’m sure you know your stuff but it can be risky putting crappie in ponds. I’ve seen them over run smaller ponds.

100% correct! I’m well aware of the gamble an risk I’m taking. Although I learned a way to fix over crowding in this pond I inherited. If management slips an something unfavorable happens with a population you just drain it down to its secondary banks that pulls the water away from the cover and fish cities. It turns it into a desert. Last years drought dropped it to its secondary bank which is why every panfish under 6” was eaten an all bass under 2lb were eaten. I’m restarting this year with maybe 50 adult bluegills and less than 10 adult bass. It appears the bluegill that were too large to fit in the bass mouths got a spawn off last fall but I’m talking one maybe two small gangs of 1-2” bream which the Strawberry Perch an bass will have eaten before long. I have a plan and it’s a little crazy but I will either make an amazing multiple species perch hole or it’s going to utterly fail. I’m being careful to only transplant Black perch (black crappie) and not white ones for that reason

@@josecruz021thank you for the confidence! I wouldn’t say I “know what I’m doing” but I am aware of what I’m doing. I’ve successfully raised thousands and thousands of exotic fish in hundreds of aquariums but this large scale stuff is new to me. I’ve done two years of research an surveys before going hands on this year. Please please please fill free to correct me or give me advice. I value knowledgeable people’s opinion. I’m in no way hard headed thinking I know exactly what to do lol

@@josecruz021thank you so much! And if your any good at identifying cross breeds please help. I’m finally super confident in identifying the green perch (green sunfish) but in the fishery I’m pulling them from it looks like they have hybridized with bluegills, red ears, and long ears. Some are obvious straight green but then one I pulled yesterday looks like no other I’ve pulled yet. Definitely a green but crossed with something

Just been waiting on the monsters to get off the bed. Hooked up twice on them pre spawn but had a knot pop an a hook pull. Last summer there was a bad drought an every panfish smaller than 6” was eaten as well as most of the bass smaller than 3lb. I just released 12lbs of fat head minnows they have been destroying. I’m going to troll a mini umbrella rig this week a film. It should produce at least one of the trophy bass. I haven’t been focused on the bass because I found out the world record warmouth size after catching and releasing multiple record breakers and just admiring their size. I’m hell bent on re catching one of the multiple world record warmouth out of it and claiming that title

He technically did nothing wrong and the problem was the guy telling him the bags are the way to go. You can’t just throw them in as soon as you show up the fish have to acclimate to the water temperature or they go into shock and all of them die.
@MississippiAdventures
Ай бұрын
It was ten maybe fifteen minutes from bag to release. The problem was they were suffocating in the bag ten minutes after going in it. 90% of the dead ones I pulled back out the water were dead before I even opened the bag. Had I not released 20 minutes later I would’ve just had bags of dead fish
