No argument. Greatest jazz guitarist and jazz violinist in history! Forever, because no one plays this music anymore! Damn shame, but thank goodness we have these recordings thanks to those who care enough to preserve the performsnces!

@@johnmc3862 And don't forget it was all done with just two fingers of his left hand. If I could play a fraction as well with four fingers I would die happy.

Felt this way when my teacher introduced me to Django. My teacher knew Django, had an autographed picture of Django in his studio!

When I wa playing my guitar lessons too fast, my guru Tim Swarbrick (basisst with Barney Kessell) woke up out of his nap and played some DR as an exanple of actual speed. Fifty years latre, I'm still catching up to DR nad SG.

In my book, every other guitar hero is a guitar zero when compared to Django. Listening to him and Stephan Grappelli is almos as good as sex [at times it's been better]

Sheer magic. Stephane amazing but how about Django fingering with only 3 good fingers and one was his thumb!
