Thanks for posting! I always heard wasatch rods were a bit stiffer, so I haven't tried them out until I got a chance at a 5:5 Darth Quattro. Stuck finishing this semester of uni, so I'm living vicariously through everyone's spring fishing videos! Hoping to get out soon.

Although WTR rods do have faster/stiffer actions, Ruben has expressed to me that the Middle Fork and larger were always intended for multi species. But Darth Quattro and Baby Z were meant for trout. Id love to see Tenkara Addicts take on this rodZ

Dang, man! These are trips I dream and hunt for! Awesome video. I'll have to check out that rod and bust out my stone flies on my next trip.

Nice! I tried that 5:5 rod a bit at the expo, but would like to try with a fly and fish on, lol. Nice creek!

Actually the 5:5 came out after the expo. The one there was the 6:4 :)

@@skiddyfishing oh, I thought Nate was showing me the difference. He had me try both of them. Maybe it was a 7:3 and a 6:4?

@mwevre1876 may of been sharpshooter or Darth Quattro. We would have picked these up at the expo if they were available at the time.

I've had nothing but bad experiences with 5:5 rods. Glad you got it to work for you.

This one’s kind of weird there’s still is that classic backbone that WTR rods have. For example, I went back to the same creek this last weekend with the Kaida which theoretically should be a little bit stiffer, but it just couldn’t hook up as well using that nymph pattern.

I just read a review by Tom Davis of this 5:5. He measured it to be 7:3. Just for reference.

@@jcarry5214 Tom is an analytical spec nerd and the credible guy for those reviews. I love reading them. Although he may be right, there is just something soft about this rod compared to other WTR rods. Even if it is a 7:3, it doesn't feel like it in my hand and I am totally content with that! This is a top rod for Skiddy. It all comes down to catching fish and having fun while doing it. This video is the epitome of that. :)

@@jcarry5214 A super soft 5:5 rod is probably going to be the FoxFire. You either love it or hate it.

@@skiddyfishing Yeah, funny you say that. At the end of the article he basically says "is it technically deceptively mislabed? yes, that's naughty. Is it fun to fish with anyway? YES." Same review as you absically, it's a home run despite being different.
