Hearing this is such a great reminder that even those with the most clear and present beauty in their talents can be in their darkest and struggling to get out and frustrated at their lack of change. How? Look at how smooth this is and then compare it to songs like “Eyeless” that he sang on a few years later. The transition is almost seamless. It’s almost as if the great big mouth was their all along, even as a hopeful 21 year old.
@creamygoodness3828

I agree. Corey had all these demons within him all this time. It was just a matter of perfecting his screaming technique in order to let them out in a healthy manner. I really admire the philosophy of musicians. Instead of causing more sorrow in this world by bringing down others in order to feel better they have a moment of self reflection & are trying to face their demons by converting all their anger & sorrow into music. And thus being able to reach out to others that may be in the same place. Corey was the inspiration why I became a vocalist myself. Its not within my nature to bring harm to others. That will only lead to an impass. And so I use the medium of art to express my "negative" emotions to vent. Imo more people should find a proper outlet to let off steam by working out or going for a run or writing etc. Whatever may calm you. It is way more beneficial to do it this way rather than the other. And yes I too find it very surreal & admirable for someone to go from a Sebastian Bach esque vocal style to the level of aggression as a Max Cavalera & or Phil Anselmo. Corey without a doubt has one of the most giftet voices in the entire human history.

I don't think his voice has actually changed that much. It's more about the vastly improved technique that's changed. He's using falsetto here e.g the vocal range a bit above his normal range meaning that there's none of that trademark Corey fullness here. And I think he has even learned over the years to get very close to this range by his full voice alone as well.
