Still coming to grips with the fact I’m now 50…STP was such a big part of the soundtrack of my college years…particularly several events that took place with a buddy who I became friends with in 1984, while STP was jamming in the background…. I was sitting here thinking about my buddy with bigass raindrops somehow falling on my face…regretting not talking to my friend for like a year over some stupid shit…realized I needed to make contact again and wrote a text message that snowballed into a friggin book intent on putting things behind us…. Being the stubborn ass I am, I held off on sending it…a couple days later, I got a call from one of the guys…they’d found my friend dead on his bedroom floor that morning…I’ve let this song play thru 4times now…the regrets not going away…. And it’s still friggin raining in here for some reason. Don’t put off saying what you feel to the people who matter.

And they have added crap like "my super sweet 16", crap like "engaged and underage" blah blah... Sad, sad news with the passing of Scott Weiland. I loved his early material and stage presence pre 2000. He lived a very hectic life style and it certainly caught up with him in time. The words from people like him have weight to them, and I can't help but be interested in the thoughts of those who live very different lives. Thank you for being the background sound of road trips, showers, waiting for trains and late night procrastination. I'll be hearing you out for many more years to come.

The words, the feelings, and the emotion of what he is saying and thinking, its all there. STP made the truth raw; striped away the BS and put it on display for whoever wanted to listen…and Scott was its messenger. No offence to you, I apologize, but this is directed at the aforementioned corporations. The bands that ushered in the sound had already been doing it way before the term/genre grunge was coined! ...and yes, I am aware of who was with what bands (i.e. Green River, etc.) before the corporatization (sp?) of this 'sound'.

Absolutely untouchable and still in my head everyday! Weiland was unreal as well as the rest of STP.

This acoustic cover of the song is one of my favorites of all time. Love how his voice carries on and is full of emotion, almost rough.

Damn, I thought grunge would last forever back then. RIP Scott, I don't think you were meant to outlive the 1990s and to lose your voice like you did.

@@djelektra1 What's worst is they would not help me because I was 'not an addict' but I knew things were not getting better after so many years. I did the taper on my own and most enthusiastically. Why be on any medication that is doing more harm than helping. I guess I don't have the addict mindset and my will to do it was stronger. I quit cigarettes in 2007 by a long self-taper with a TON of screw ups...but now I've no desire for either. In fact, I'm moving and gonna be near a good friend who smokes. I'm still 1 puff away, ALWAYS, from buying a pack. God help us.

You don’t know how many of the teens, including me, you saved through those shitty years… thank you to you all ~ your music is pure catharsis of these deep emotions. Scott, you are greatly missed and an angel above us all. X

So sad. I find myself remembering where I was when I first heard this song and many others. Scott Weiland's voice brought so much happiness and fun to me and my friends in the 90s, and his work their after was great ! I was very fascinated to see his xmas album and to hear his vocals in a way other than hard core rock. He was extremely talented. Although he moved on to other projects, I feel that STP was his baby. I am so hurt for him that he could not beat those drugs. I wish his family well, and I hope he is at peace. I will miss his presence.

I've never fully understood the lyrics to this song but have loved it ever so much since I was young. His soulful rendition here is the best that Unplugged ever produced. You were a troubled dude, Mr. Weiland and burnt through life too fast, but your voice made you a rock legend to this fan. RIP
