Explanation of building a stone and concrete retaining wall with an alternative to cyclone fencing mounted on top of it. I call it "galvanized green fence," in Mexico it's called Euroreja Galvanizado, and the industry term for it in english is galvanized wire powder coated metal green fence, or something along those lines. The fencing we use in this video is rigid, not rolled so post positioning is important
It comes in two sizes 154 by 200 and 154 by 150 centimeters. If you're in the US, that's 60 x 79 inches and 60 x 61 inches.
Installation is very straightforward. If you position the upright posts with the correct spacing you simply clamp the rigid pieces of fence to the posts with the provided clamps, three or four per post as needed.
As far as the rock and concrete wall goes, we used a couple of dump truck loads of black rock and a stack of concrete. Eric and Hugo started by digging the ditch for the foundation, which had to be deeper than we had anticipated to get to solid stable soil. Consequently, the underground portion of the wall measures about 4 feet and the above ground section is around 7 feet plus the height of the fencing. It might seem like overkill, but there's a lot of back pressure on a retaining wall like that during the rainy season when the concrete-hard clay turns to a very heavy, viscous liquid as it super-saturates with water.
