That's great. Delayed muscle soreness (DOMS) is usually around 48 hours of soreness. But it's also a sign you are strengthening your muscles. Of course if it's too sore you may have injured yourself, especially if it's on one side, but if not, don't stop. Soon the soreness will go away and you will see how much easier the same exercises.

As a dancer, I actually agree that it's necessary to strengthen that part of the foot, I've always practiced this outside of dance, and I think it's necessary to, so when you inevitably fall out into that position (at some point), your feet and ankles can handle it.

Holy fuck. This was my secret reason for not having foot pain anymore??? For some context I have flat feet, usually noting a decent insole couldn't fix but through middle and high school even if I was barely standing I would get incredible foot pain radiating up through the shin and sometimes knees, debilitating to the point that if i had a migraine at the same time I would just sit in a dark room and cry. When I got my first job I knew I would be on my feet more so obviously I worked up to standing for 8 hours a day but while at my job I would stand on the sides of my ankles and roll them and rotate between standing on my heels and toes and now 6 or so years into the industry pulling 12 hour days with little problem most of the time.
