How would you recommend getting rid of sand spurs that may pop up in your yard from the neighbors? Also do you know of anything that would kill weeds in your flower beds without harming the plants?
@soccermom1245
2 жыл бұрын
Years ago the front edge of the yard had sandspurs. It took a couple of hours, but, using an old dinner fork, I pried up as many sandspur plants as I could see. The next year I did the same. Keep a sharp eye on them and dig them when up when they are first growing so they can't spread.

It’s usually a commercial versus residential is counterclockwise versus clockwise. Most residential stuff spins clockwise which is completely annoying. I cannot believe the ego made that trimmer do that. I had one of those and as soon as I found out it’s fine clockwise I immediately got rid of it. No other high-end battery power trimmer does that, it is horrible

Does the hydretain affect the propensity to get fungus/disease since it keeps moisture in the soil?
@DoDgeSwaG
2 жыл бұрын
Probably not a factor in the heat drought months because I only have fungus issues in the spring and fall when it’s that perfect outside temp for cool moisture that allows fungus to get a head start. However just as a safety precaution you could always incorporate a preventative maintenance of spraying fungus control at the preventative rate even if there aren’t any signs, it won’t harm the lawn. I do this every spring and early fall now no matter what and no more fungus issues which gives that grass a head start in coming back stronger, thick, and lush next season

You can easily reverse your string trimmer direction. Take the head off and you will see 3 wires that drive the motor. Simply cut 2 of them, swap them (solder and heatshrink), and it will rotate in the opposite direction. This simple tool is powered by a direct drive sensorless brushless motor.

I LOVE burning crack weed. However, I like to hit them with a vinegar solution first. So vinegar in the morning on a nice sunny day, and they’ll be dry and crispy by dinner time. Then they REALLY light up nicely and tend to burn more completely.

I’ve been applying Prodiamine every year the last three but it seems to have little to any bearing on it?! Thanks

You need a post emergent for weeds. It's a two-pronged attack - get the lawn thick with good mowing, watering and fert - kill weeds by using pre and post emergent. yardcarebootcamp.com is a great place to get all of this in one place in an easy to follow program.
