I was diagnosed with fatty liver, though my BMI is 21; I never eat processed meats; I am not addicted to sugar; I do not touch alcohol. A liver ultrasound determined that I had a rough liver surface echo, which the radiologist termed a fatty liver. That was several years ago. I since have been taking milk thistle capsules, about two each week. The last time I had an RUQ, the radiologist reported nothing remarkable, which I understood to mean no more fatty liver. I have never had the symptoms of diabetes.

They are talking about Type 2 diabetes. Type 1 is not reversible because the insulin producing cells (T-cells) have been destroyed by the body’s immune system and can’t be regenerated. Type 2 can be often reversed by changes in diet and exercise.

Thank you for this informative video, Doctor! My MRI came back with an enlarged liver (17 cm) and fatty liver. I am a female in my mid-40’s. I am not overweight, I don’t drink alcohol or soda/sugary drinks. I don’t eat gluten, and I do eat lots of fruit. My diet doesn’t have enough vegetables. I do take a lot of anti inflammatory medication. My liver enzymes are perfect. My cholesterol and blood sugar are normal and had always been normal. What is required for the fatty liver diagnosis? Aside from decreasing fruit and increasing vegetables, is there anything else I can do? Are liver enzymes supposed to be impacted for this diagnosis or is the MRI itself sufficient enough?

what are the symptoms of fatty liver?
@teresa985
3 жыл бұрын
No symptoms at all. Only if it becomes worse you will have digestive problems stomach pain or jaundice. Take ultrasound abdomen scan to know if you're liver is good. If you think its worse youre doc will ask for liver function blood test. Even if you're slim you may still have fatty liver. But you should not take it easy at all. Edit:- if you're liver function blood test is good even then you may still be having fatty liver which you're supposed to take care of ... Only diet and exercise. No doc will give medicine for fatty liver.

That is so interesting. Many thanks for sharing! One thing you and your viewers may find really interesting is a research study showing how 40 grams of wheat germ daily may significantly reduce nafld and cholestoral. If you or your viewers are curious into looking at the deep dive in the study. You can KZitem Tube search the video and draw your own conclusions. The video was posted by You Tube Channel (Dr Joe Tv ). It is titled: ““Humble Food Gets Rid Of Fatty Liver & (Reduces Cholesterol Too)’. For me, the research findings were quite shocking , and it made me wonder if the high Vitamin E content of wheat germ was associated with this.

Just a quick production note on your editing, imagine someone was speaking to you and they suddenly turned away. It would be kinda rude of them, and leave you wondering if they were done with you. Now look at major network news broadcasts, they never film at an angle other than facing the camera. It's because they are talking to the audience and you face people you're talking to. You don't need to break up your eye line, if you were in the room with a patient you would maintain eye contact as much as you could. Don't film yourself talking to the corner, talk to us.
