First of all, really disappointed Darshan! I respected you a lot! While I made videos regarding pros/cons of a coaching platform You instead made a video targeting me calling me hypocrite and having ulterior motive. Anyhow, responding to your baseless claims. 1. Never said Coaching apps is vast for 1/2nd year This criticism was aimed at Interns and post interns - but the supremely smart Darshan probably confused Interns and 1st year. 2. I promoted use of Standard Textbooks over Coaching apps So you’re promoting use of these apps instead of standard textbooks. You want students to instead read App notes over standard textbooks which make your basics more clear. 3. I told about use of FREE/CONCISE/CONCEPTUAL RESOURCES I know that standard textbooks are not everyone’s cup of tea - which is the reason i made it a point to always recommend FREE VIDEO RESOURCES which were better/more concise. Pathoma Ninja Nerd for Physiology Dr. Lionel Raymon (Kaplan) Acland Anatomy Kaplan Biochem All these resources are much more concise than any coaching app. They are free. They are conceptual. 4. Ulterior Motive Me promoting ‘FREE’ videos has an ulterior motive while you are promoting a coaching app. Hypocrisy ki bhi seema hota hai yaar. 5. AIIMS Doesn’t have good lectures Which is the reason i know about these videos. If AIIMS had good lectures - why would i know about them Which is the reason I’m unable to recommend a resource for Microbiology. AIIMS lectures were best. So, i dont know a vivdeo resource for Micro. 5. My advice is according to year. 1/2nd year - Std Textbooks/Free videos 3rd year - Coaching Apps intern - First Aid Unlike you who plainly recommends Marrow to everyone. WHo has an ulterior motive - do let me know. Dr. Darshan so smart, the only thing he knows is Marrow. Dr. Darshan so smart, he confused advice for interns with 1/2nd year. Dr. Darshan so smart, promoting use of ‘paid’ apps instead of free resources. Dr. Darshan so hypocrite, he himself didn’t use them in 1/2nd year but will recommend its use. Also, i have always said ‘ Pehle Istemal karen phil vishwas karien’ No need to listen to me. Try these videos - they are FREE!! Marrow/Prep ARE NOT GOING ANYWHERE! Links to these videos in Description. All those who have used Pathoma/kaplan videos - do let me and Darshan know if you like them. Also, Darshan - you have every right to promote use of anything in the world . It was very disheartening to see a fellow doctor taking a dig just for the sake of a video. You could have told about pros about coaching apps for your subscribers instead making a video about me.

Dr Aditya Please don't get disheartened I am also surprised to see this I belong to a private college I always use to think Aiims main sab kuch Kitna aacha hota hoga And both of you belong to Aiims although at different places l am always attracted I have been watching your videos as well as Dr Darshan videos for queit a while now And thanks a lot for giving us the insights of the branded institutes of our country It wasn't expected from Dr Darshan to act this way. But l want to say the whole crux of the senario is to pick relevant points which works best for you. There is no need for us to follow any single platform or resource or single persons advice COMPLETELY for our preparation. Because when it comes to medical feild sky is the limit. Each and every one of us are at different phases of life financially as well as by knowledge. Everybody's situation is different Everybody's grasping capacity is different So it depends upon us to pick up relevant points and do what works best for us. You always sound as if some big brother is talking me and thank for giving me the knowledge of the resources which however l wasn't aware of. We all need to understand that the teachers that teach on various coaching platforms have themselves read standard textbooks which made them legends. Books are always one time golden investments Without any renewal No matter how many editions get updated You go back to the same book same edition which you have read in your ug for any reference I used boloor in my final year And Ramdas nayak for pathology in second year And l love these books I always go back to them when need arises. If l would have used standard textbooks in my proff No doubt l have had went back to them Advice to Current medical students: When you are in proffs You still have time to figure out To get yourself habituated to the standard textbooks Unfortunately the senario of the medical field is changing Where your success is being measured on the rank and not on the passion of this field. Everybody is in the rat race. No doubt it is important for us get a good rank because it makes us more competent and strong minded. But using different resources according to your brain and money capacity will do no harm It will only do good I picked up the point of previous years questions ,reading good books and making consiced self notes from Dr Aditya's videos and meditation and focus visualisation of your goal from Dr Darshan's video and right now l am working on it But sometimes when l don't understand the subject I also watch videos because audio visual works quite good for me No matter what any coaching institute cant beat Dr Najeebs Ecg series. Usmle step book has all the subjects integrated step wise It depends on our capacity to what can do and what we need to do The whole point is pick up what works best best for Work on it And make your life 🙂🙂

No it's definitely immature to attack someone by name on social media . You need to think a thousand times before saying anything in this platform . Him being a well reputed doctor also raises the level of conduct expected from him . You don't need to bring people down to elevate yourself . Yes people should use whatever they want to and Aditya said as much but what even was the need to darg his name into it .

Well sir , I haven't used Kaplan in my MBBS time but I do agree about that standard books are Gold and attempt should be taken to read them not just for competitive exam but for clearing the concepts. I did crack PG due to coaching but after entering my MS I gave MRCS and cracked it with just 2-3 months of preparation and that was totally due to concepts being built up by Standard books i read from 1st year itself. But yes that's totally true that everyone should not go on reading standard books even if finding difficulty in understanding or not being able to devote enough time
@DrAditya2935

It doesn’t matter which college or year you’re in - Standard Textbooks will help you . If you can’t understand- then Kaplan etc. or even Marrow/PrepLadder But promoting apps over reading standard textbooks is not smart work/ it’s dumb to be honest! And exactly- an attempt should be made! What’s wrong in advising trying to attempt to read these books. What’s the use of spoon feeding right from the day you enter MBBS. Even I used coaching - Bhatia And Marrow both - but I realised it’s importance for summarising in the end - the base will always be your knowledge in MBBS.

Very very true Dr Aditya I regret not reading std textbooks in my early mbbs years I read std textbooks in third year and final year along with marrow videos (Got air 1000 this year) The difference between marrow notes for 1st yr and 2nd yr vs. Std textbooks can be compared to the difference between shoes available in market vs. shoes designed by a company like Nike 1) both will run( clear exam) 2) roadside shoes hurt(unnecessary nuggets of information from coaching apps) 3) Nike shoes last a long time and are value for money ( concepts from textbooks and putting in hardwork last for a lifetime) The only con abt Nike shoes is that they're very expensive But ultimately it is not money, it's an investment in our future We always invest in good things Also, these textbooks tend to develop richness in thoughts Life is not just about cracking an entrance faster than others or having more information than others Life is also about enjoying the process of learning These 4.5 years of ug never come back

No !! Its never like that, anat (and all subjects for that matter) are too different and 'real' when read from a standard textbook...reading books helps you to create your own view point...which is the crux of MBBS...to make you independent and have your own opinion....classes are only for revision when time is less...so standard textbooks anyday, anytime will always beat any class, no matter how good that class is !!

Both of them are at fault when they think that their idea of preparation is the absolute one....some students are those whose concept are concrete already...so they don't need marrow... while those students whose concepts are weak can take marrow as a source so that they can cover things in the span of 1/2 years irrespective of their base of 5 years....& Many students will also be falling under the grey category..(neither of these 2)...so rather than criticising any of these two,figure out the category that you belong to & select your source accordingly....both Aditya sir & darshan sir are geniuses & good people...it's none of our job to judge them on the base of this one shallow incident...after all ,we all make mistakes sometimes... (I was one of those who are decent in some subjects & below avg in some subjects...I prepared from marrow...but I did not follow it religiously.....& I got air 2k.... ultimately it is upto students,where they stand at the beginning of preparation & their ability to revise things...so plz avoid criticising both & just bcz you don't get results, you can't blame things on any of the coaching classes...be it dams,marrow,prep or Bhatia etc etc) All the best

I have been following Dr Aditya Sanjay Gupta since Quora days back when I was new to Mbbs and I have used Kaplan , Najeeb , Pathoma , Sketchy Videos and I would obviously recommend the same to my Juniors. Why? Because of the very simple reason to wire our brain to think and build concepts on our own rather than spoon feeding. When we read the book ourself , we think and try to connect the dots. This way you would remember the things better and also would be exciting too. First and second year is the very foundation of being a doctor. By the time you reach third/fourth year , you have become wise enough and hence going to coaching is a good idea.

Aditya Sir do you genuinely feel he was talking just about you? What he was speaking about teaching at AIIMS vs other Govt colleges was probably relative not absolute about each and every subject,which many students who are not from THE premier Indian institute AIIMS may feel. If only like 'grass is greener' maybe and if not here then where in India. Also he says,just before he says about Sembulingam, that he didn't have Marrow during his time in early mbbs years, so how could he use them even if he wanted. You are right in promoting free apps and he possibly may well be paid representative of Marrow but I don't feel he was talking about you specifically. Maybe people like you-your kind- the typical topper as he said it -even if this sounds derogatory/discriminatory. But I believe that many students, particularly many from a rural background understand and connect with what he was talking about. His method, in my opinion, is NOT ideal and straightforward and may even be 'dishonest' and the doctors selected by the use of his methods may indeed not be more knowledgeable or competent when compared with a 'typical topper' doctor but he may very well believe in his own hacks so much because they just worked-even if just for him and which may indeed be the only way to help one to punch much above one's weight, in his belief,as we all are guided mostly by our beliefs, particularly during our younger years.
@DrAditya2935

He talks about AIIMS Delhi specifically, could have taken AIIMS J Talks about First Aid Talks about English speaking fluent person Talks about MBBS, MD, DM Talks about Standard books and Najeeb. Yeah. He was not talking about me. You’re right. The biggest fallacy of his argument is - using his methods - you will still have only 10% chance of success. 90% still be those who work hard and use standard textbooks and have their concepts clear So I should tell 90% people to not work hard to get a chance to be 10% atypical topper. Nice logic!

In this rat race of neet pg everyone has forgotten the essence of this field. It's been boiled down to just getting a good rank in competitive exams, but that's not where it all ends. Books have always been the gold standard and there's a reason for that. No great physicians or surgeons have become great only by using shortcuts. The effort is required and that's a fact. It's better to get into the habit of reading early on in your mbbs days when there's ample time to choose from a vast ocean of resources. I did use marrow myself but only when I needed it for entrance exams and I'm glad I wasn't aware of such apps during my first/second year. It helped me for pg exams , no doubt ;but substituting books (international /indian authors ) with video lectures is not ideal or advisable. P. S. I did use Kaplan videos for immunology and they were outstanding. So dont hesitate to try multiple resources before choosing what suits you the best. It's not one size fits all kind of a thing.

You talk of mental health and well being and then take offense at a video and insult him, call him names like this when you clearly could have been the bigger person here being a senior. Also I'm not supporting Dr darshan, I have never even watched one of his videos. And i don't intend to , but all this is too un-necessary.

Dr. Aditya Sanjay Gupta sir, your guts and logics are just on another level, although I may be a 1st year MBBS student at CNMCH, Kolkata, but boss salute to your content and videos. It would be very helpful if you could make videos on medical research, like how to start reading papers, procedure of research or you may recommend a course ,as in AIIMS or central institutes there might be scope for research for UG MBBS students but in peripheral state colleges you know there are not much opportunities. So on that note also if you could comment something or give any suggestions. And lastly thank you very much .

@Dr. Aditya Sanjay Gupta Sir i don't know if you'd read this comment or not. I have myself done pathoma completely literally chaat ke videos alongwith printed notes.( That time it was just famous among usmle aspirants in my cllg.)It made Robbins soo soo sooo easy and i even annotated Robbins on pathoma. I gave my pathoma notes to junior and he literally thanked me emotionally to let him know about it. Now he is suggesting pathoma to every junior. The only con i feel is it's verryyy conceptual but not an absolute for Indian entrance. Thank you Aditya sir

Dr. Aditya Gupta ive a concern about my cousin who gave his neet 2nd attempt yesterday and he study at least 15hrs a day and today I heard from my parents talking his paper is not cleared, idk how's this possible, he was studying consistently for a year but nothing happens. Any advisory for him sir for better options in medical field. I'm so worried about his mental state right now 😞😞. Pardon for any writing mistakes, please give your opinions 🙏

Unluck happens and with it come to be stress free , if somebody is worrying too much what will happen , obviously he won’t be able to focus more on his preparation . 1st feel free to handle the stress , too much is not good , keep studying , take good revision , take some time for going outside like 30mins to 1 hour a day outside In the greenery , park in cities , if possible , your mind needs to relax . Look at Aditya he took some break in between , it’s about smart work also . Focus on ncert more understand it . Don’t go for coaching materials for biology 😂.in plant kingdom itself they teach so many examples when ncert has so much . when when the time we gave neet itself in 2018 , 90% was from ncert and now from 2020 after nta took over , 95%or above 90% are from ncert itself looking the way cutoff have increased so high , during 2018 , 570 rank were 3000 -4000 but now , with with 6marks like 630 ranks you get a rank of 3000 it’s because questions are easy that’s the fact . . Focus on ncert , you have to mug it up , one of our biology teacher in coaching institute told us to learn from ncert . See what Dr Aditya told is good thing . I believe in that . If he really wants to give neet , I would suggest going in for another year . But this year with more smart work learning from the mistakes he did last year . Ncert takes time to remember , some people learn early some slow , but hard work is the main . You have to remember every line by understanding it

Finally kisi ne to sach kaha ye maine neet ug ke liye bhi feel kiya hai kyoki inhone books(NCERT) ki jga us app ko use krne ki suggestion di thi and ye pehlibar maine kisi se suna tha ki even in biology someone saying use this app not books

AIIMS has best Micro and Anat lectures. Good BIOCHEM lectures Below average Path lectures Bakwas Physio/Pharma lectures. But the good thing is labs. We learn a lot from practicals. But for theory - even we have to use some other resources. So many of my batchmates joined GRG physical classes simply because Pharma lectures were that bad
