The Rideshare Guy has shown itself to be advocates for the companies and their shady practices FAR more than it advocates for the drivers. Your channel has at times even facilitated predatory practices against drivers by platforming loan sharks and proven criminal enterprises like Womply. Then you take to social media and threaten to sue other content creators that expose you. I also don't appreciate Joe's false bravado here. I've been driving for Uber just over a year now (16 June), wages have definitely decreased and my ride acceptance has also decreased. When I started I took almost everything, was at a 99% accept rate.....then in February I said hey, let's start taking rides that are worth while and stay away from the garbage rides. I have cut my miles per day in half and make just as much, some days more and some less. I won't accept anything that is less than .45 per minute...so if it's a 10 min ride (total time to pickup and drop off) then that should be minimum 4.50 and I won't take anything less unless it's going to an area I am after. I don't look at miles ever, I only look at time, so far this has worked out pretty well. I rarely drive in the afternoon, fares just aren't worth it IMO, I have only been driving evenings, late eve's and very early mornings, wages seem a little better at those times. Good luck all.

I know this isn't related to the video but I have been on an ongoing battle with Uber, I am really hoping you can help with, I'm trying to get them to add the same option for speech impaired drivers as they do for deaf and hearing impaired drivers, I've gotten negative reviews as a direct result of my disability and Uber is essentially allowing me to be discriminated against with options such as "communication issues" and being "rude". I have signs up saying driver has difficulty speaking loudly, but not everyone reads it, I use a voice amp(a medical device)to help me talk unfortunately it does come off as a whisper and some find this creepy, ive had rides cancel, which is fine it is there right to do, however I've been reported before for sounding like a serial killer (I had cleared up with the safety team and the passenger was deactivated) most recently I was threatened to be shot because the passenger found it creepy and kept making threats and when we got to his destination takes out a gun and says your lucky you got me here you was about to get shot. I reported it to the safety team hoping at the very least Uber will finally add the feature for speech impaired drivers.-thanks for reading if there is any more info you need please lmk(screenshots, dashcam footage)

Being an independent contractor since 91, I couldn’t fathom punching a clock. I understand that SF is an anomaly as far as better pay and very little mile driven. For the past 6 years driving Rideshare (mostly Uber), has been a life saver since I closed my business due to the internet. Cities like SF, Boston, Seattle are still profitable. I don't really think we're independent contractors when it comes to money. Because Uber can one day decide to change the percentage of how much money they want to take from the fair, whether it's higher or lower. But I guess the only reason why we're considered independent contractors is because we can accept or decline any wide offer that comes onto this blade. For example, I only accept rides out of seven bucks and higher. Not only that, we can also get on or off the app whenever we want.

I've been driving for only Uber for over 7yrs. I only started to do so because I moved into the area. Great way to get the lay of the land. I've noticed how the fares have gone down. And I hate radar trips, I will not click on them. I find a lot of rides are just not worth it, and I just don't accept them. Now being in the Boston area, the state and Uber made a settlement that all rideshare drivers will be paid $32.50 an hr. from the moment the passenger gets picked up to when he is dropped off. I'm not sure when this is going to happen, but I have a feeling it will backfire. And the fact that they don't pay for when you have to drive to the passenger, I find sometimes it takes over 15 minutes, I will not except that ride. Also, a lot of rides don't take over an hour anyway. I've learned. I just recently bought me a new car and I'm not going to run it down like I did with my last one. I'm glad I don't have to rely on rideshare to make a living, but when I do drive for Uber, I like to be treated fairly. I don't do any Uber eats and I just will not go to the city. The traffic and the time I spend it's not worth what they are willing to pay me. I want to say that I appreciate what you are all doing. I'm glad I found this channel. Keep up the good work.

I got that fixed and everything is fine and legal. I have a clean, driving record even. What’s next for me try and find an attorney that will take them to court and force their hand and attempt to get reimbursed lost revenue due to their negligence and the failure of due diligence on their research company. 🤷♂️ I’m just kind out here in limbo getting the corn cob where you don’t want it.

I just stay south of it in suburban areas and I average $22-$27 per hour. That’s not great money, but I’m not an idiot with my money! Maybe some drivers have a terrible market. Well, then maybe it’s not right for them. But if it’s not right for you then stop doing it. I suffer from physical injuries and I absolutely love driving. So driving for Uber is the perfect job for me. Do I love the company? No. But I do love the opportunity it gives me, and I am very grateful for it! sometimes people need to just shut up, do the work, and make smart decisions with their time and earnings. Uber and Lyft drivers are independent contractors. We are free to enter into a contract with whomever we want. When we sign up to drive for Uber or Lyft we are entering into a contract with Uber or Lyft to provide rideshare driving services. We are not directly contracted to the riders, and so we don't set the rates for each ride or for each rider. The time for agreeing/disagreeing with pay rates is when you sign all the contracts when you start doing rideshare work. We can complain to Uber or Lyft about time rates or mileage rates, but there is no legal requirement that independently contracted drivers set their own rates once we enter into a contract with Uber or Lyft.
