Hi Amber. I grew upHimself to me. Anyway I am now 63 years old and have gone back and forth to Arkansas to take care of my parents. They go to a small church there. When Im there I go with them to show respect. The people there are the most loving people I have ever met, but I have been bothred by a couple of the sermons talking about the very doctrines you shared in one of your videos. I couldnt tell if God was saying something to me or I was reverting to my confusion from childhood. You cleared it up for me. Im glad I found you. Thank you.

This is the path that I am on and I’m so thankful that the Lord is teaching me, has taught me, that everyone has a story and if I’m going to LOVE the way He instructs me to love that I need to take the time to share life with people and build community with people by listening to their stories. I’ve got a blog post rolling around in my head that I want to write about this very topic. Thank you for making this video♥️Katie

But you are right don't judge someone for there sin try to help them but tell them to stop if they are hurting someone else or themselves thank you for sharing your opinion and remember God will always love you and I love you ❤

I forwarded Amber's video. So what does this video tell us? It tells us that not everyone in church is safe to talk to. In fact, there are those who claim they are speaking for God when in reality they don't! In fact, a pastor I know in Ashland, Oregon once stated his response to people who come up to him and claim they have a message from God is this: "stop, if God wants me to know, he will tell me. He doesn't need you telling me." And it's true. Again, lets be morally and intellectually honest: our churches have both the best and worse of people. There are those in our churches who are very gracious, understanding, supportive, and merciful vs. the religious self righteous!

Hello Amber. First of all, I am so proud of you for your courage to make these videos. I just stumbled across them today. I have a group of COC friends and I have tried to talk to them about my concerns with their doctrine. But it seems to go on deaf ears or they just avoid anything scriptural with me. I walked away from the modern day "church" organization years ago. Since then I have grown so much in my walk and love for Jesus Christ. I am not truly free because I know the truth. I was in so much bondage in the church but did not know why exactly. Until I dug into the scriptures myself. I did intense studying and it was such a joy learning God's word without anyone telling me what it means. God is not trying to hide his truth from us. The Bible is very easy to comprehend with the Holy Spirit guiding us. Man is who complicates it and twists doctrine around their personal beliefs. The COC is just one of many church organizations that are misleading people. I did a very in depth study on baptismal regeneration. John's baptism was to prepare the way for Jesus and to get people to repent. It did not remiss any sins. Only God can forgive sins, not a man dunking you in some water. John even said " I just baptise with water, one will come who will baptise with spirit and fire.. " So was John being neglectful of the truth about the physical water. It would be so misleading if he said that and water actually saved us. That is just one example of why I absolutely disagree with that teaching. I will take the Spirit baptism that only Christ can do when someone is truly repentant of their sins. And only Christ knows our hearts. How can a mere man know our hearts enough to baptise us and tell us we are saved. It is a false security. We will stand before the Lord one day and that man will not be there to prove our salvation. So why would I choose to be accountable to a man who I can easily lie to does not know me. Jesus will say "away from me I never knew you". Those are people who call him Lord and perform miracles etc... In His name. This is a scary realization. So many people think they are saved just because they believe. The demons believed in Jesus and they shuttered. Anyway, I praise God for the few out there like you. Keep preaching the truth in love. Not enough people are confronting the false preschers and systems out there. Contact me sometime via email and I can give you my number. I would love to be encouraged by you and vice versa. clinescot@yahoo.com

You know what's funny. I was watching some of their WVBS teachings on youtube and most of what he was saying is correct. But then I thought there's a spirit here. It's not done in grace and love. It's the spirit of obey or burn. That led me to research who was putting these videos out which lead me to research COC and I stumbled upon your video. I'm someone who's big on the bible and the bible is God's authority. But I know there was a spirit behind their teaching and I know found what it is. It's a legalist spirit that is devoid of Christ's love. The guy didn't even smile or tell a joke for crying out loud. Amber have a blessed day, I believe God is leading you into his grace & presence. Christianity is a wonderful and enjoyable life. It feels good to enjoy Christ without the bondages of sin and legalism :)

Hello Lucy I could tell you however in all honesty it would be better if you look them up yourself and then ask yourself questions. There are countless scriptures about forgiveness so which one. The other scripture about planks and specks was referring to telling a fellow believer about their sin when you have a bigger sin in your own life (type is sin not important) it also relates to with the measure of judgment, which means by the measure you use to judge, the same measure will be used against you in the day of judgment. Hope this little bit helps you 😃

Amber, I have truly appreciated your videos. I have discovered them accidentally while exploring the topic of the restoration movement that my wife's church is very involved with. This is a church that has been a blessing and has taken her through some twists and turns. But overall I see God speaking to her through in the midst of what happens at this church. I have watched all 3 of your videos and have appreciated your honesty, transparency, and your insight. You have mentioned in one of your videos that your husband is a pastor. Is he still a pastor after leaving the COC? Hope he is. If he is, does he have sermons available? Would also like to hear his heart as well. I believe, even in the midst of some negative responses, that it would be a ministry and a blessing if you continued making videos reflecting how God is speaking to you and the insights you have learned as a mother, a pastor's wife, and, I am sure, many other roles and encounters you have had. I know that my wife, Robin, very much shares your heart. This is coming from someone who was a pastor for over 15 years.

In 2 Timothy 3:16, Paul says that all Scripture is inspired by God, which literally means God-breathed. We have copies of every book of the bible in the original language in which it was written, so there really isn't any guessing to be done as to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and salvation through him. I don't believe that the bible was tainted like a game of telephone because of the many manuscripts we have which agree with one another. There are far more manuscripts of new testament books than there are of Shakespeare's work. I hope this helps. If you'd like more information on this subject, I recommend the book Evidence that Demands a Verdict by Josh McDowell.

= @@amberhead1630 = When they say Scripture is inspired by God, it is referring to the OT only. There are many translation errors in the NT, especially the KJV and some made deliberately. Paul's writings are not scripture. They are writings. .. Isaiah 66;15-17 is a future prophesy, and makes it clear that the dietary food laws are to be kept. Dear Amber, Your response reference churches of Christ leaves some to believe that all churches of Christ are like your home church or others who are similar to that. It leads people to believe if it has a church of Christ sign up that they certainly want to avoid that group. I feel so sad that you may be leading some away from Jesus because of this. Your generalization is is not fair to those churches who are trying to do the right thing, and yes I have been to churches that you have described so know the pain you have felt hearing the Phariseism. I have left almost in tears wishing I could find a place to worship where I could hear lessons about Jesus and how to be like Him. Finally a preacher came who did just that I remember leaving the church building saying to him, It was so wonderful to hear a lesson about Jesus. Things were different after his coming. Praise God.

Hi Amber. So....I've watched a few of your videos. This was the third one that popped up on my KZitem feed, and as I am constantly on the spiritual journey of looking back where I first started looking for God, assessing the moment I am currently in, and also looking forward to what I am striving toward, I listened to your journey too - at least this far. When I got to this video, this is what happened: about halfway through it, I paused the feed and scrolled back to the other two I had watched to see when you had published them. -- I was feeling hopeful, thinking this one must be the most recent, based where you were. I admit, I wish it had been. That's okay though. I know that life with God is a journey.-- ANYWAY, I want to share with you where I am on MY journey. THIS ONE. This one (Stop in the Name of Love) is truth. The other two? ('Why I left the church of Christ part 1 and 2) - those were written by that lady that saw a friend in the ice cream isle and, meaning well but not really knowing her or her journey, told her exactly what she thought. Sometimes, unfortunately, we do the very thing we hate - the thing we want so desperately to leave behind. Even the apostle Paul struggled with it, so it isn't new. Here's the good part, though: EVERY true seeker of God will find Him, and will journey faithfully toward His intention for their life until they draw their last breath. That in itself IS the grace of God. He is patient and kind, and will listen when we cry out to Him, without finding fault in our incomplete understanding and spiritual inconsistency. This is what makes Him the potter and us the clay. He knows where the flaws are -and He knows where to work on our hearts. He also knows where to place us on the life-path so that we will have the best possible opportunities to grope in the dark to find Him. And when we even barely feel the tip of his fingers or the edge of his garment, He pours more faith in our heart to encourage us to keep reaching for Him. And EVERY time we do, He guides us lovingly and patiently further toward His light and the freedom He promises. Keep groping, Amber. It is a wonderful struggle and a worthwhile journey. And always remember that He gives EVERYONE the same loving opportunities to see Him, right where they are. God bless you!

You will receive your reward according to which wisdom you choose to follow. The example you gave of the ice cream was done in love and in the character of heavenly wisdom. There was the courage to speak and to do it gently. You cannot prevent a sinner from feeling guilt and pain. Otherwise, they do not realize their sin. No matter how gentle you are the sinner WILL feel the pain of guilt. You are not advocating here to be gentle. You have silenced the voice of anyone who does not know the person very closely. Where is that principle in Scripture? You are doing what you accused the CoC of doing. Taking one way of doing something that is not forbidden in Scripture and making a principle out of it and arguing for it and especially arguing against the alternative, which IS told in Scripture. You are completely confused and should stop.

Yes sister she was wrong when she did that to you because that is not a sin but you are not wrong when you see someone committing a sin and expose them. Ephesians 5:11-13 (KJV) And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

To come and make a public video that calls out people who correct others without knowing them first and then seek to correct them publicly without knowing them first is hypocrisy. Mathew 7:1-3 and Romans 2:1-3 condemn hypocritical judgement and John 7:24 teaches us to judge righteously. We also have other passages that teach the manner in which we approach someone. 1 Cor. 13 and Ephesians 4:15. Your entire premise is a perverted understanding of scripture in my opinion. Knowing someone is never given as a condition to my knowledge anywhere in the Bible. Jesus and the apostles along with other disciples taught people and told them the truth before establishing a personal connection with them, see every single conversion account in the book of Acts. In Mathew 18:15-17 we are taught how to handle people who sin against us or the church. One precept not mentioned there is having a personal relationship before hand. When Paul wrote to the church at Rome he used some very pointed language at times to correct false Jewish concepts regarding their state and salvation. Look again at chapter 1 and you will note that he had never visited or been to this congregation nor had any other apostle. Now to conclude, I would never encourage a practice where someone walks up to someone without previously knowing them and tells them bluntly that they are sinning and they need to stop. If it is a non Christian then that's not what they need to hear first, they need to hear the Gospel just like Paul preached to the men of Athens in Acts 17. If it is a Christian then we aught to have a relationship beforehand with them and then they are much more approachable. However, this is not always the case. We should never spread rumors or gossip but if you are walking by and see a brother or sister standing in quick sand heading toward death are you going to say "well I don't really know them well enough to tell them and I don't want to turn them away from me or the church" or are you going to tell them they are walking on quicksand and they need to get out! Or if you are absolutely unable to reach or help them would you get help? Friend, it is evident to me that your past experiences with the Lord's church are less than perfect as a result of imperfect people. Just because there are some in churches of Christ who teach or practice Christianity imperfectly does not warrant throwing the baby out with the bath water. It appears you have traded personal experience for false teachings not found in the Bible. And if you think I wrote all of this because I wanted to prove you wrong or puff myself up you would be mistaken. I wrote this out of love.

I think she was probably just trying to say that she has repented of being judgmental and looking down on other people's sins, and will try to love more in the place of those things. It sounded like she was saying that love needs to be established instead of just telling people how wrong they are then walking away. About ¼ of the way through she gave an example of walking up to a stranger and correcting them, which, you agreed with. Then she said it’s not an excuse to look over sin. It sounded to me that she was talking about the approach and also the attitude she had, and she repented of those things. It’s a little strange that you assumed she was telling everybody that they should never talk to someone about their sin.

My point is simply her view of judging and correction is not correct with the Bible. She is coming from a Christian background of imperfect people and generalizing an entire group of people in her videos. Take her anology of the ice cream. The person giving the judgement was not wrong and to say a person was wrong for speaking up is a judgement itself. What can be debated is the effectiveness of the method chosen but not the intent of the heart to show the truth in love.

Listen dear CoC cultist, we know the difference between imperfect people and a destructive cult. And you need to learn the same.

If your confusing the ICOC with the church of Christ then I can see why you would think I was part of a cult. The church of Christ has nothing even remotely related to a cult. As far as judging, I will just say this. The Bible condemns hypocritcal judging and commands righteous judging. I don’t believe this lady has really taken the time to study this out.

And if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you, Philippians 3:15- repent Amber and return to the faith. That saves.
