I'm building a very similar PC this weekend. Ryzen 5 7600 (went with 65w proc as i want to reduce any heat I can, as PC is under my desk) and it performs very close to 7600x. 4070super (I can't fine a 7900xt in the brand I want for a decent price, Asus wants $800), the 4070 super is already a few gens more than the 2070 I have so I will be happy. MSI Mag Tomahawk B650. I'm using a Noctua 12s redux for a cooler. Corsair Vengence 5600 (I need to run 64gb so the 5600 was a little cheaper). NVME 2TB WD SN850x. Corsair 750e power supply.

Love your choices for the builds. It’s surprising just how much of a hit your fps takes when moving to an ultrawide monitor, typically getting on for half way to 4k. So fitting the fastest gpu you could get in there was a must priority. Really impressed with the $850 build, I find that a really tough budget, especially now the 6000 series gpu’s are becoming scarce.

I'd keep that 4070 Super. 1440p gaming won't need more than 12gb of vram even years down the road. And if you play single player AAA titles, DLSS + RT is far superior than the AMD offerings. High FPS is needed to e-sports games, keep the 4070S and get the 7800x3d cpu :)

@@VoldoronGaming So you're saying a 4070 Super can't handle 1440p gaming? E-sports titles benefit with the x3d cpu and if you're paying single player titles DLSS and RT probably benefit more than any AMD card.

Hello Jason, i am not sure if you will ever get to see this. But Hay. I am looking for an advice to maintain my current PC state of good performance and zero noise yet I want to upgrade from ddr4 to ddr5. Current build and details to follow, eager to hea... Ehum, read back from you. MBD: B660-a asus rog wifi (wifi is essential) CPU: 12700k (bought on discount-originally had 12100f) GPU: 3080 10ram (bought second hand- originally had 3060 ti) ventus msi PSU: 850vs corsair Ram : vengeance 32gb16x16 not sure 3600 or 3200 cl16 or 18 its one of them and with rgb (not a big fam of rgb but it was on discount made it cheaper then the non rgb one, so why not) Case is nx800 from antec... Now i made this pc almost zero noise by doing the following : GPU undervolt to 1800 and fans locked between 60-70% All original case fans were replaced (200mmx2 and 140mmx1) by more quiet ones. also a fan added and used as exhaust 120mm all but exhaust locked to 50%, oh the 200m i think 90%, they are super quiet...even at that speed. To be clear, i don't measure sound by using any equipment. I just turn off ac and listen to the fans while ramp up and say ok, this is the most acceptable noise and lock. (Using xfan app, or something like that) Also, i play everything but i sacrifice fps(usually 82 is my aim as my monitor is 165 LG but can go down to 60 if i have to) for noise and sweet graphics(i never go ultra here, same technique for noise, i stop where i see it's most beautiful for my taste) can't care for super fps for competition, old school but u do like smoothness of picture flow... Finally, and sorry for the long chat,,, is ddr5 even worth it in my case? Will force me to change MBD aswell, maybe PSU. But any advice is cool for me, i like to upgrade slowly but surely as long as i get the results i am looking for, so i am open to any ideas... Keep up the good work jason

Regarding the 1500$ build I think he could get a better MB for less: # ASRock B650 Steel Legend WiFi or GIGABYTE B650 AORUS Elite AX cost about 180$ and offer better features. # For the GPU I've seen the XFX Black version of the 7900 XT in Amazon for 664$ just which seems like a great deal. # For the PSU, I've seen the Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 for 95$ which looks good but I don't know if the 2024 version is as good as the older model which was recommended. There is also the Seasonic Focus GM-850 850W for 100$ which looks pretty good (despite being an older model).

Yes I saw that GPU Deal too. I'm guessing that Deal wasn't available yet when he recorded this video. Regarding Motherboards yes those are good choices. There's also the New MSI PRO B650-A WIFI at $190.

In Denmark we still got a good amount of rx 6800 xt like Sapphire XT nitro, pulse, gigabyte, Powercolor red dragon, Asrock and maybe a few more, but only 2-3 non-xt 6800, its a bit fun to see how diffrent it is. Even Got some 6900 and 6950 xt’s left to 😅

So in terms of the Arctic cooler (which, I would get the non rgb one anyway), if the ambient temp without AC is 33ish degrees C, is it still not worth it for someting like, say, a 13700K? AC obv brings the room temp down, but you get the picture. Thanks for the great vid!

I've been looking to build a new PC for a while, but I'm not very familiar with AMD CPUs anymore. I currently have an i9-9900k. Would either the 7600x or 5700x3D be worth getting? I'd like the 7800x3D, but considering how much more expensive they've gotten, I'm not sure it fits in the budget (plan to get a 4070 Super or Ti Super).

Both CPUs are good choices and I'd get the 4070 Ti Super as the GPU. The 5700X3D is nice as it would allow you to keep your RAM assuming it's decent RAM, but the 7600X offers a better upgrade path.

@kelley09162 Are either of those CPUs actually faster than what I currently have though? A lot of comparison sites I've Google'd seem to be really be kind to Intel, so I'm not sure if I believe that my i9-9900k is basically on par with the 7600x. The AMD CPU is definitely newer & offers DDR5 compatability, but I'm not sure that's worth buying a new CPU. Thoughts?

He should go with the Thermalright Peerless Assassin RGB which is only $36.99 vs the liquid cooler. Liquid cooler is a waste of money on that level of CPU. The rest of the build looks fine. Now for the GPU. I would wait to see the performance of the 8800XT which should come in at $599.99 and be faster than the 7900XT by about 5-10% though you’ll lose 4 gb vram since the 8800xt will be 16gb

Great recommendations as always! May I have your opinion if the single pcie cable (6+2pin x2 pigtail) on the A650BN (and A750BN) is adequate to power the rx6800 with no issues/minimal performance hit? If so, are there higher spec GPUs that you wouldn't recommend with this PSU setup? Asking this as I've read that using separate PCIE cables are recommended for GPUs. Thanks!
