I had trouble with these two during my intercooler install. Bought a breaker bar- 100% recommend!

If you need a breaker bar, may not have let the PB Blaster work its magic long enough. I do have a breaker bar though... if needed.

What jacks or ramps did you use for this looking for something that’s going to clear the car

I used plastic rhino ramps. I have 2 sets so I drove up on the front, then used my low profile jack to put the rear ones under.

Did you ever get the bolt extracted and if you did how did you get it extracted? I learned after breaking the one off to one blaster everything for 2 days straight then it all came off like butter

I tried a bunch of extractors, even professional, didn't work. Had to remove the turbo and have it drilled out. Took me almost 3 weeks because the turbo on the drivers side is almost impossible to get to.

@@StingerGT2 dang mine was on the passenger side I was able to separate the hot section from the cold of the turbo and remove just that and then I drilled a hole and welded a nut to the stud and heated the section around the bolt to remove it… then after all that I had to tap the hole to get rid of the bad metal left from the bolt and finally it all came out clean… what a pain it all was that’s for the video I wish I seen it sooner so I never broke a bolt in the first place lol

I am actually doing this already started yesterday have mid pipes out and two O2 sensors out already have bolts from turbos out near top side of engine heat shields. This is rough to do and how did you get to the lower bolts on turbos? Thanks in advance and for doing this video

I went from underneath the car with a flashlight, long extensions, and swivels. I used tape on the swivels to make them a little more guidable to where I needed them, to get them on the nuts/bolts. If they don't break loose with a little force, don't crank it, use some spray and wait!

The best way to remove bolts on exhaust components is to have the engine up to operating temp so all the metal has expanded from the heat
@StingerGT2

Lot of risk with hot parts, especially when thee is so limited room, especially on the driver's side.

If everything is expanded wouldn't that make it more difficult lol?
@chase3721
2 жыл бұрын
@@bryangibson2788 lol the expansion of the metal is so small you wouldn’t be able to see the difference. The difference it makes are the nuts and bolts expand ever so slightly but just enough to making them easier to brake loose. But yes it is hot so it’ll make it a little more difficult because no one likes getting burned

I used that blaster spray bolts came off with next to no effort I let it sit for at least a day
@justperry5473

This is just wrong... The studs are going to heat just as much, if not slightly more than the nuts since they are threaded directly into the hot side of the turbo. This means that they will both expand equally (or studs slightly more) and thus removing the nut is no easier and perhaps even harder. Heat works when applied primarily to the object you want to expand, ie heating the nut directly.@@chase3721

I love the pipes myself, some people complain that they are too raspy. Which they are raspy.
