That's not a snatch block we use rings like that for tree work. They add friction to the system, so it's easier to control heavy loads. It's not an advantage if you're adding friction to the system with a ring.. What we call a snatch block is a large pulley that adds little to no friction. A rigging ring is a ring a snatch block is a pulley.😂

That snatch block might have been fine for pulling a quad or a dirt bike but it's definitely not rated for the forces to move a full size vehicle. The nylon is whats burning and a larger rope would distribute load and heat better, especially if you're trying to pull a jeep up a hill in park. Not saying that a friction ring should be used in place of a snatch block in this situation, but idk if I'd blame the ring for burning a rope when neither the ring, nor the rope is really the best thing to be using here.

Why would you write that comment ? Ropes, steel, synthetic, or traditional rope, all have strain ratings. Any rope will break if the rating is exceeded, although there is typically a safety margin. Anecdotally, I have a synthetic rope upon my trailer winch. The winch is rated at 13,000 lbs, and the rope at 12,000, so the rope should break before the winch is damaged. I've had no trouble with either, even loading a Winnebago motorhome.

Your rope looks more like rope than kinetic. Maybe if you used Yankum products you could compare but you're not. Casey knows more about ropes because in his neck of the woods he and several others use kinetic instead of winching out everything. He is in a different part of the country and doesn't only have to deal with the mud only recoveries that you do. He operates in a whole different world and there is no reason to put him down outside of jealousy because he has more subs and sponsors. You are not helping your viewership by making these kinds of videos. Your rope is just not compatible with the pulley. You are mixing products.

Yeah also I don’t know on this, but many high strength/weight equipment has little strength when used outside of the designated method and can rather explosively disassemble itself. If you used that in the manner it’s designed it is just transferring the pressure from your one line to the other line and directly bearing very little of it, and nothing fancy would happen even if it did break. If you used it in the way, he is showing in the video it is bearing all of the weight between the two lines, and if it were to shatter, of course, the fragments from it, and the two lines would explosively go flying, which could obviously do a lot of property damage or injury to any people in the vicinity.
