Hi! I have some unrelated questions regarding this video, but they might be considered for your next video. We used to rely heavily on phrase match keywords + maximize conversion strategy. Now, we are facing an issue involving numerous irrelevant search terms (triggered by our ads), primarily related to brands. Have you noticed a similar trend, and if so, how are you dealing with it? Curious to hear your thoughts!

The algorithm reacts differently in every industry & to every phrase... Some phrases or words are more vague/can mean different things to the algorithm. Some industries have a huge market size, which also seems to make the algorithm take more liberties with the keywords. Also, over time the algorithm seems to be taking more & more liberties. I try to choose broad or phrase but if it's not working and you can't get it to target correctly by adding negative terms, then you'll have to give up & switch to exact match...

Quick question, do you guys take into account impressions share? Back in the day when we had specific position metrics I personally always found it better to be in position 2 or 3 as opposed to position 1. The reasoning for that was that position 1 tended to get a lot of sporadic clicks when the serps loaded. Positions 2 or 3 tended to have people with that same search intent to buy or sign up but with less wasted clicks. The reason I ask this is because I noticed that in this example you used CTR as more or less a single metric for measuring that as opposed to "Impression share", vs "top impression share", vs "absolute top impression share". I generally try to keep top impression share as high as possible while making absolute top at around 50-75% DEPENDING on what TIS is. But who knows, maybe im full of shit on this one lol.

What if you added "exotic fruit" and other similar overly broad search terms to the list of negative keywords using exact match? This should restrict Google from showing traffic for these search terms.
