I know that the Macy's Men's and Home store in Citrus Heights at Sunrise Mall (formerly Weinstock's) has an architecture identical to The Broadway store in Riverside at Galleria at Tyler Mall (later Macy's/now Forever 21), as well as another Weinstock's store in Fresno at Fashion Fair Mall (later Gottschalks/now Forever 21). The Citrus Heights Macy's store (formerly Weinstock's) at one point had its children's departments inside, which were later moved to the other Macy's store (formerly Liberty House), giving room for its new furniture departments.

After Liberty House closed, Macy's, which was located at Birdcage Walk across Sunrise Blvd. since 1979, moved their women's merchandise to the former Liberty House, and kept their men's and home merchandise at the Birdcage store until moving into the Weinstock's space in 1996.

It's creepy seeing some of the lights flicker with the building completely empty

Apparently shut off due to downsizing. They've also shut the 3rd floor of the Women's Store (nee Liberty House).

I heard they want to build homes where the Sunrise mall is. I hope it doesn't happen

Fun Fact: This building has two sister stores in Fresno & Riverside, California. Both of those are Forever 21s; the one in Riverside was a Macy's for about 10 years after it took over The Broadway. This building is beautiful, but I'm certain is cursed. All three locations seem to have a troublesome history.

I worked at the Old Navy across the street, Northward. It used to be next to Eddie Bauer and in the same strip mall as Round Table pizza. I worked at the former GAP outlet that had been transformed into an Old Navy. It closed in spring of 1999,

Nice! The outside of the building looks pretty cool. I like the elevator and the motor generator. The top floor being vacant reminds me of former Macy's in Downtown Seattle when they had the top 2 floors blocked off.

When I lived in Carmichael, 1984-1987 Sunrise Mall was always busy. Wasn't there a Bombay Bicycle Company restaurant near the mall? Good memories.
