The first phase of UNU-WIDER's Domestic Revenue Mobilization (DRM) programme helped improve tax systems and strengthen domestic capacities for revenue collection in Global South countries through seven different projects in 2020-2023. What was achieved? This Stories of Change video series shows the transformations these research and capacity development initiatives have been able to catalyse.
In this video Research Fellow Amina Ebrahim (UNU-WIDER), Assistant Commissioner Allen Nassanga (URA), Senior Economists Evaristo Mwale and Arnold Chimfwembe (ZRA), Policy Analyst Clement Otindo (KRA), Research Fellow Miselo Bwalya (ZIPAR), Consultant Adnan Shahir (UNU-WIDER), Senior Consultant Steve Kayizzi-Mugerwa (Zziyika and Associates LLC), Economist Joseph Okello (URA), Reader and Non-Resident Senior Research Fellow Antonio Savoia (University of Manchester, UNU-WIDER), Executive Director Rose Ngugi (KIPPRA), and Ushioda Fellow Mick Keen (University of Tokyo) share their stories of change: from personal capacity development path to organizational reforms and contributions to the universe of DRM research, changes in perceptions, better policies, and advancement of Sustainable Development Goals.
The DRM programme is financed by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad).
