I hope you have a marine carbon monoxide monitor with alarm. I've tried putting that same Yamaha generator on the transom, but after a while carbon monoxide starts seeping in. Hi Captain, this was another great video! I learned a LOT about finding, and cooking the escargot. Over the past decades, we usually looked forward to rain to help wash the salt off the boats! But none of our windows on any of our boats leaked like you showed us leaking on yours... I posted 3-4 videos of our present boat in rain storms, and there are no leaks. Our boat is outside, uncovered 100% of the time, even in hurricanes; still no leaky windows. I wish I could help figure out what's going on with yours; it might be something simple, but knowing you, if there is a way to fix it, you would have figured it out already! The side window's are Taylor-Made (The front windows are Diamond Sea-Glaze; a better window)...

They storms are beautiful to watch and learn different ways to seek shelter from. Great videos and the scenery. It was nice to see in the other video about the old house and lighthouse that was there as well. That was a great job you did bring in the past and what the present shows now there and how much change that goes on in a small period of time. Thank you captain Navigate safely

I LOVE YOUR Channel!!! Before your Crooked PilotHouse, you had a Yamaha jet boat. I have a 255 FSH SPORT E and would love to add a Generator and Hydraulic Autopilot. I live in Winter Garden Florida how can I hire you to help me?
@OutOnTheReef

Hello Stan And we are neighbors I live in santa Florida you have an awesome boat that was one of the boats I was thinking of getting Before the crooked pilot house And as far as auto pilot goes for your boat I think your steering is electrical And if it is electrical you won't be able to install a autopilot , Which I am pretty sure you're steering it is electrical or by wire Go and check your boat to see if that is true and if it is you won't be able to install the auto pilot captain that's why I do not like the jet boats because you cannot add hydraulic autoparts. Let me know when you check it out captain and thanks for watching for a long time

I've made one trip to Bimini in 2019 I have considered the dry tortugas always thought that would be a fairly safe run
@OutOnTheReef
Жыл бұрын
Well I think the Bahamas blocks the rough seas to Florida so you have a better shelter from rough seas but when it comes to dry tortugas you are in the open ocean in the middle of nowhere in the small little island and if a storm happens to catch you out there you have no protection going to the island or coming back to the mainland but you have to watch the weather and get a good weather window like I did when I went I got perfect weather for 4 days and it's very hard to get Year round. And thanks for watching

I have done both Bahamas (Bimini, Chubb, Abacos) and number of times, as well as Dry Tortugas. I think crossing to and from the Tortugas from Key West is overall much safer. One, for about 60% of the crossing you are in the relative shallows of the marquesas bank where anchoring in a breakdown might be possible. You are never in the GulfStream current. Two, there are daily ferries crossing in about the same line of travel to and from, so there is potential help in an emergency. Three, you are always in US territorial waters with SeaTow and Boat US not far in Key West, and a USCG presence there and the rangers at Fort Jefferson. I have always seen multiple other boats at the anchorage and in and around d the Fort, I’ve not felt alone or isolated. My biggest fear crossing to the Bahamas is a breakdown in the middle of the Gulfstream, not being able to get help fast, and be swept north in that current. In a short time you can be taken a very great distance north. Most of my crossings have been without a buddy boat, but I have twin engines and all the safety gear - life raft, EPIRB, PLB, two gps units, fixed and handheld VHF radios, and a solid float plan with people at home monitoring my expected arrival. I know you have a lot of the same safety gear and are experienced. One additional thing I may get, or rent for another long trip is a satellite phone. Great and entertaining videos man. Stay safe!

thanks you cap . for your support and now my wife will give you her recipe. I will be glad to share my recipe! 1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour 1/2 Cup Maseca Corn Flour 2 tbsp corn starch 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 cup water or beer if you want beer batter. You can use less water/beer if you like the batter thick or add more if you like the batter thin. This I eyeball and add beer until it reaches the consistency I like which is a thin consistency. Let us know how it turns out :).
