Remember this like it was yesterday was a senior in high school living to the northeast in Chumuckla in Santa Rosa County and our planted pine trees were all snapped like twigs and all roads were full of debris and it literally looked as if a atom bomb had hit us and just as soon as northwest Florida was getting clean the year after we get nailed directly again by another major storm hurricane Dennis and have to start all over!

This house is so cool to see in real life. He has an alien standing in the front window waiving 😛 If the aquarium got blown out I guess the fishes that were in it became one with the gulf 🥺

Florida, and California should mandate all homes in disaster areas be monolithic domes, they are hurricaine resistant, how many hurricanes has the one in pensecola beach been through? Cause it is still standing today. Monolithic domes are fire proof (the one in California was used as a emergency shelter by wildland firefighters as the wildfire literally roamed up and over the dome then down the other side of the slope...... in places where tornadoes strike smaller monolithic domes could be regulated for above ground cat 5 safe rooms structurally a curve takes 4 times the pressure a flat surface canal if you have a flat f5 rated above ground structure using the same construction but in a dome it will survive at least a f5 (they can be buried as well), I saw one someone built and it was literally the only surviving structure after a f5 f5 tornado.. and dont forget these disasters are getting worse.... monolithic domes are earthquake resistant too so are good as a safe room zones for earthquakes and give people a place to live in the interim.... #hurricaine #wildfire #disasterprepardness #tornadoshelter #earthquake

I do wonder how Ivan compared to Michael?

Michael was a walk in the park - Sally was worse than Michael it damaged 2 major bridges and getting to mainland (Pensacola) was a huge headache from 9/16 until memorial day the next year.

Very different beasts the two storms were. Ivan hit the Pensacola area way harder than Michael did (wind gusts were barely tropical storm force from Michael), but Michael hit the Panama City area much, much harder than Ivan hit Pensacola. Overall, Ivan's damage was a lot more widespread; Michael's was concentrated in a smaller area but was more severe. An apt comparison might be the effects of Hurricane Andrew vs Hurricane Wilma in South FL.
