Thank you so So very much, your Video saved the day!! For the last 2 days, I was working on this back door Kitchen storm window, getting no where except extremely frustrated. The window frame had one broken L bracket and i couldn’t figure out how to get the broken pieces out. Thanks to watching you drill out the hardware, then tapping out the adjusting spring lever solved my dilemma. I can’t thank you enough, i was ready to buy a brand new door, but they didn’t have my style because it was too old.

Hi. Thank you for such a wonderful video. Here I am 4 years after you made this video because none of my local stores are able to fix my broken storm window screen frame that has mesh on it and no glass. My aluminum screen frame does not have any indentations on it and i have a corner key that is broken and stuck in 2 of the corners. This frame broke when someone got it out of its window track for replacing the mesh. Now we are trying to figure out how to fix this broken frame with corner keys stuck to 2 of its corners before we can even re mesh it. Should i try to push the latch out to get the corner key out? I wish i had someone to advise me but hoping you can see this-- would be great if i could have uploaded a pic here and gotten your advice- :)

Great video, have to you ever had a situation where the nail punch did not indent the aluminum enough to hold the corner? What do you do if that occurs? Thanks

You shouldn't have that problem. The aluminum is a very soft metal and the corner pieces are also a very soft metal.

Hello thank you for the video. What kind of weather strip is being used in this video? I would really appreciate if there’s a link

I didn't have to replace any weather-strip but these storm windows use something like this... www.amazon.com/Prime-Line-Products-8658-Window-Weatherstrip/dp/B000BQSX52/ref=asc_df_B000BQSX52/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=193151859311&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12990423390724586760&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9009968&hvtargid=pla-308526912210&th=1 you should be able to find what you need online or at your local hardware store

What kind of nail punch did you use, concave or one with a point on it, what size? Thank you
@helpinguonline

Small concave punch (ie. 1/16) . ... you want to dent the metal and not punch a hole in it.

@@helpinguonline Thanks, this helps a lot. My windows are falling because the slot bolts are not long enough so when the wind blows the window shifts and the bolt falls out of the notch. Trying to figure out how to keep that from happening.

I can't drill through it.What ever happened to the days you could just take it to a hardware store and have it fixed? Ace said they couldn't even put a window in my empty frame because they would have to take the frame apart and they didn't know how to do that. You don't need to take the frame apart, just plop the window in and put the gaskets back in place. If Ace will cut the glass I can do that myself, I think. The other frame is the one that needs repair and I, like a lot of women - not all, am not that used to using power tools. As I said, I am having trouble drilling through the frame.
