thank you for all your how-to videos! I have been playing for a while now and it is always good to have these that show the whole process and also explain what you are doing and thinking. I have no idea how you are not one of the top stormworks youtubers and always look forward to your videos.

How can I make a flow sensor to sense flow in a pipe that draws from the room and constantly pulls air out of it into the atmosphere. I can’t measure the capacity leaving the room as air is also constantly being added to the room.

Yeah thats the catch its needs a stable volume but the best from top of my head is to use a small Fluid tank in the middle of the pipe in question and monitor its contents. But its watching all the contents so if you can control said contents it will be fine. or just use the Fluid Pressure sensor, it should still register pressure in the line that can tell you that its active. By the description its possibly a ventilation system to provide clean air? I would monitor co2 levels (as its generated by you and npcs) and how that changes can indicate if the system is flowing or not.

@@archadeseng.corpsgaming I actually found a way to do it. I put a pressure sensor on the end of the pipe right before the fluid port and I also put a fluid port and a pressure sensor next to that to measure the atmospheric pressure at that height. After much testing I figured out that you can take that pressure at the end of the pipe, subtract the atmospheric pressure at that altiude, and then multiply it by 1200 to get flow rate. I have no Idea why the number is exactly 1200 but it just works. In fact I tried to build the same system on another creating but the multiply factor had to be 800 to work (probably because the total pipe lenght was different but honestly idk). Also yes I am building a ventilation system of sorts; im building a pressurization system for a plane cabin but I want to make the wastegate not dump air at more than 250 liters a second because more ventilation then that is not nessacary and just wastes engine power.

@@archadeseng.corpsgaming I actually found a way to do it. I put a pressure sensor on the end of the pipe that evacuates air right before the fluid port and I also placed just a pressure sensor and a fluid port next to it to meassure atomspheric pressure at that height. After much testing I figured out that you can take the pressure at the end of the pipe and subtract it by atmospheric pressure at that height, then multiply by exactly 1200(No idea why it's this number) and then you will get almost the exact flow rate. In fact I actually build the same system on another creation just with different dimensions and the multiply factor had to be exactly 800 for some reason. Also as to what im building it is indeed a ventilation system of sorts; I build something to pressurize a plane but I didn't want the wastegate to dump more than 250 liters of air per second as more ventilation that that is not needed and makes the pressurization pump use more engine power.
