Dang son you make me wish I was back in time about 55 years so I could enjoy being out in the woods again. I miss that complete solitude no electricity no tv no phones no neighbors just Mother Nature. There is nothing like it, there is no comparison. Folks that never experience this just don’t get it. You get to really search yourself test yourself and see what you are really made of. It gives you great pride to learn how to sustain yourself and see life at its common denominator. Thank you for sharing this buddy it took me back to a long time ago that I miss very much. Glad I did it back then I have memories that a lot of people will never have. Its a brilliant idea to set up a tripod and hang the tent, but I can see there is a gap running along the "skirt" of your tent which I don't like it as water might get in and wet the ground of the tent if it rained heavily. I would apply dirt / soil around the skirt and seal the gap to prevent water / moisture from getting into the tent.
