Saint Bernadette of Lourdes, born Bernadette Soubirous in 1844 in Lourdes, France, is best known for her visions of the Virgin Mary in 1858. Despite her humble beginnings and frail health, Bernadette's experiences at the Grotto of Massabielle brought her widespread attention. She described seeing a beautiful lady who identified herself as the "Immaculate Conception." These apparitions led to the creation of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes, a major pilgrimage site. Bernadette later joined the Sisters of Charity in Nevers, where she lived a life of simplicity and devotion until her death in 1879. She was canonized as a saint in 1933, and her story continues to inspire millions worldwide.Welcome to the amazing series about Catholic Saints.
