Usman came to The Indus Hospital when he was just 7 years old, with the complaint of a swollen leg. It was later revealed that Usman had cancer, which had spread to his bones. The young warrior says he fought his illness with all the strength he could muster.
"I always imagined and hoped that I would get better. When I came for my chemotherapy sessions, I would spend my time drawing. By the end, my drawing got so good that everyone used to praise me and I made many friends. Slowly I started to get better and returned to the normal life I had," Usman says, as he talks about his experience.
According to consultant physician, Dr. Ahmer Hamid, the cancer in Usman's body had been eradicated but it had left him with one leg shorter than the other causing him severe pain. With the help of TIH's robust orthopedic department he was able to walk again.
Usman is now in his early teens and a star football player living life to the fullest. His journey is commendable and truly inspirational for all.
