If this sticks with you (as it should for any decent person with a heart), don't just think about it. Do something to make the world better. Time or money - either or even both. Find a cause you care about and devote some energy to it. Make a positive difference for someone or something. This isn't specifically to you, Jeff, but to anyone reading it. It applies to every single one of us.

I live and work in Detroit. I work armed security, in some terrible terrible areas of the city. Terrible to the point that our security team has been shot at and taken fire before. I've lived in this city my whole life and have seen a whole lot of shit...but I will never ever forget one time that a guy drove on to our property and tried to park his car in our parking lot. He was CLEARLY using and/or abusing this woman who was riding in his car...and they parked there so they could go to the pharmacy that was across the street. And she was quite obviously and addict. There was nothing I could legally do...but I wanted to put a bullet in his fucking head. We also once had a woman buy drugs from the dealers on the corner and then drive onto our property and try to shoot up heroin with her little kid in the car. We shook her up and tried to make it clear what she was doing to herself and her son. I love what I do because I can make a serous difference in peoples lives. The type of shit that happens in this city...It can get bad. It can get really bad. But you can only do what you can. And OF COURSE be thankful and happy for what your life is. Never take it for granted.

A very very sad story and as always I like the way you tell the story. My reality wake up call last year was when a work colleague who I just met very recently who sits next to me lost his wife of 15-20yrs to cancer on 23rd Dec. He is from Liverpool UK and had no family around him.

When I was just 14 years old, I seen one of my best friends smoking crack from a spoon when he was just 15 years old. I decided not to hang out with him anymore. I feel bad for ditching him, but he was pressuring me into trying it. We did smoke weed together, all the time, but crack was a little much for me. I'm 29 years old now. I found out that he shot himself in the head when he was 19. I wish there was more that I could have done. R.I.P Eric

👍, thanks for sharing Jeff. You might have even heard this saying a long time ago and having a very hard life that everyone agrees it is, I always think of old saying, "I cried I had no shoes, until I saw a man with no feet"! This can keep me in check! Meaning that as bad as one might think their life is, someone out there always has a harder life then you(no meaning you personally). This might help one keep going when things are tough on them! Keep in mind that throughout the year the holidays are some of the most stressful time for people. Keep smillin, they're almost over people!!

For people like her, it's usually not something that changed. It's more likely that her mother was a lot like that when she was being raised and she was exposed to these horrible things so young that it just seemed like the natural way to go when she grew up. It's not unlikely that she was an addict by the age of 13 and before long she was doing whatever it took to get a fix. Meanwhile she's surrounded by people doing the exact same thing so there's no pressure for her to change.

I've always wondered why dogs generally look much happier wearing clothes. My guess is all the special attention they get, and since dogs are good at reading human body language, they can see that we like what we see and they perk up as a result of that.

Anyone is entitled to what they have to say or whatever they want to express, but to say something like this to a story to help open people eyes and have a comment like this if your willing to watch a 25 minute video and then comment that just tells you something for yourself and to others , you don't need to watch his videos you don't need to comment there other you tubers that you can watch but for the one youtuber that's sharing a story and Actually sharing a pure meaning you have some serious problems , and if you think the story so bad go make a video go share a story see how much pointless hate you'll get , but like I said your entitled to your opinion as to my own personally the best story teller and life changing person I've seen on KZitem .

Jeff: I use the Flat Belly Diet published by Prevention magazine. It is a modified Mediterranean diet. I lost 12% of my body weight and kept it off. Best diet I ever used. The secret is eating MUFAs (MonoUnsaturated Fatty Acids) at every meal. MUFAs are in nuts, seeds, olives, olive oil, avocados, Dark chocolate, etc. At one point or another I tried the Banana diet, Atkins diet, south beach diet, starvation diet. My metabolism was messed up I could eat 700 calories a day and still gain weight. Adding MUFAs to my diet and limiting my caloric intake to 4 meals a day or a total of 1,600 calories a day; the weight come off and very little pain. I will be using this diet for the rest of my life. I am almost 60 and only weigh 7-10 pounds more than I did when I was 25.

I wonder what the sad story is behind the addiction. People take drugs to kill the pain of life, people do not choose to be junkies.
