For as long as Allie can remember, she has seen two of everything. She has strabismus, a condition where the eyes are not aligned. In Allie’s case, her inner-eye muscles were too strong, pulling her eyes inwards and causing her to see double. After years of wearing increasingly thick glasses, she turned to Yale Medicine for help. Martha Howard, MD, one of the team’s highly experienced pediatric ophthalmologists, performed surgery to successfully straighten Allie’s eyes. This short documentary catches up with Allie as she goes for her post-surgery checkup.
