Maaan! I’ve been here lol, a few times! The only problem I’ve had with my 09 f150 is the brakes. I’m going to rebuild my brakes and swap with PowerStop everything! 😬👍🏻

OEM motor craft. You should do both sides. So one doesnt over power the old one. Get carbon fiber ceramic pads if you wanna upgrade. They stop my mustang insanely fast. Crazy.

Breaks are cheap insurance. I would scrap that one for sure. Me I would put all new front breaks and check the rears.

The brake pads looked really worn too so it's possible that the piston in the caliper was coming out so far that it got out of alignment and didn't want to go back into the caliper to release tension between the pad and rotor. It might be worth trying to put some new pads on it and see if the issue gets corrected before buying another caliper. Larry sounds pretty good!

May not be the caliper. Often when a caliper locks up, the culprit is the soft brake line. Rubber goes bad and sucks in when you let off the brakes and won't let the fluid back out. I'd replace those first and see if it solves the problem. If not, it would be better to put new ones on with new calipers anyway so you won't have wasted any money unlike if you buy the calipers only to find out the lines are the problem

I’ve had that happen on a 99 ranger, it completely locked all of a sudden with no warning, snapped the caliper bolts as well as the rubber brake line. I did the same thing you did there. On my 08 super duty I had, same thing began to happen, but I was able to drive it home

I had the same symptoms also on a older gmc truck.. one wheel overheating and locking up. I changed brake pads same..it turned out to be the flex brake line was causing a check valve effect.. the fluid wouldnt return to the reservoir when released..its a long shot I know..

Oem ford, do a full brake job! Play it safe!! Replace rotors too. Edit: most of the braking is done in the front of these trucks. Ever noticed why the front pads are more worn down than the ones in the rear? As some of the people stated you want equal performance across the board so a full brake job - calipers, rotors and pads.
