a DAY has 24 hours
@English_Lessons_Pre-Int_Interm
2 жыл бұрын
@@hellyeah66613 it depends on your culture. Some countries think that day is 24 hours long, and many other countries are also right to say that a day is a day, and it does not include the night. After all, we are talking about the light day, when there is sun light. The English language has always surprised me with this illogical crap. In my language we have two words - 1) day where it is not dark, 2) 24 hour day. We even have a proverb - ""as different as day and night"" which clearly puts these two terms apart by telling that days are not the same as nights, bcause nigths are completely different in terms of being dark, not bright. And when the new day starts, it starts with the first rays of Sun at sunrise. Damn, it is weird when somebody calls night a day. This language needs another word which it lacks. And even in my language we have a similar confusion, and same as the English speakers we have to clrify which type it is: astronomical or light day (I suppose in English they are called 'light hours' but again it is so weird when there are sentences like ''don't wake me up at night when I sleep, just visit me during the day'. I just wanted to say that your confidence does not seem to be supported by facts.

so many city people have not seen many chicken, but if you have a chicken farm sometimes you have to collect chicken to eat them. On these days you take a shiny axe, and collect about 150 chickens. Don't forget that you need food, right? So, you will have to kill them, just because you will die from hunger/lack of nutrition. Imagine this: your axe moves up and falls upon the chicken neck. The first dead chicken is clearly a sad view, all that blood spilling from the veins (but hell we don't have protein factories yet, so deal with it). Don't forget you still have 149 chickens waiting. After about 30 chickens there is no more emotion of regret. Your brain has got used to the unpleasant and weird experience. Your fingers, nail, between them, your wrists - they are covered in red-brown syrup. Your family are waiting to start cooking them. I know it sounds gross, but I had to do it when I was a teenager and my family had a farm, afterthe USSR fell apart, and everyone was as poor as a mouse. There were days when we ate macaronie soup made from potatoers and water for a week. Ah, and the axe covered with blood. And this was just the beginning. We also had 150 ducks and 50 geese, and 40 rabbits and 3 goats and the whole farm was a hideen slaughter house. If you want to stop it - go to University, learn science, build protein factories and save those poor guys the animals. Sorry for the gross story, i just had to get rid of this nauseating memory.
