Saw this pop up and had to immediately watch! Thank you for checking it out. So glad you like it! They are the reason I'm checking out Kpop because I was a hater before. As for not understanding the lyrics I'm the same way. I did read through them and it's about getting stuck in a not so good situation but choosing to stay essentially. The music videos they do are insanely good with the dancing and transitions. Again I highly recommend God's menu by Stray Kids as well.

@@OatzMane always check out the MV's and turn on subtitles. Where no official MV, check for color coded lyric video. Stray Kids MV's are nothing like you've ever seen. Last year they won MTV Award for best video Kpop is not pop as the style, it's korean popular. There are many genres put together under this name. God's Menu and Thunderous are their top songs, but their entire discography is dope. And i say this as a rock fan that discovered this group and kpop 8 months ago. I listen to them 24/7 now

As others have said, you should definitely watch the MV for "Venom". The production is AMAZING and the choreo is always on point. And their drip in the videos is consistently awesome. Also, the entire "ODDINARY" EP is straight 🔥. It's basicslly unskippable. And, yes, as others have said, Stray Kids are kpop as in they are Korean and they are a popular music group. But they are NOT kpop in that they really don't sound like any other group, and I do mean that quite literally. If I had to put a genre label on them that's more familiar to Americans, I would call them a hip-hop/R&B group. If you want to do something more off-the-wall, "Maniac" is a good one. It's from the same album as "Venom". And if you do, then definitely react to the MV. It's wonderfully chaotic. If you want more of something like "Venom" where it's more rap heavy, "Muddy Water" and "3RACHA" is a great place to start. If you do nothing else, you should do the MV for "God's Menu". It's one of their best MVs and it's their breakout hit song that really helped launch their popularity.

Stray kids is absolutely not your typical “kpop” they’re pretty much a genre of their own and 99% self produced and composed! Definitely watch the MVs so you get the full effect of how amazing they are!

All Stray Kids music videos are on their KZitem channel. You can play them with English subtitles. The Venom video is fire. I suggest you react to that so that you get the full effect. Stray Kids write and produce all their own music. Two members are Korean Australian, so they’re fluent in English and Korean, among other languages. All eight members speak English to varying degrees. Their fan name is Stay. Im a die hard Stay. I hope you’ll react to their videos. God’s Menu put them on the map. Thunderous is one of my favorite videos. Back Door has great choreo and an oldie, District 9, kicks butt and has an English version. Just sayin…😊

Stray Kids videos can end up on three different official channels. Often times a video will be posted on one channel, but may not be posted (or there may be a delay) on the other two channels. They debuted in 2018 They are ages 23 - 26 Fandom name is Stay #2 Best Selling Artist in U.S 2023 #3 Globally Best Selling 2023 They are unique for several reasons... First, the leader Bang Chan was allowed by JYP to hand pick all of the members himself. They were not placed together in a traditional way, by the company. Second all of them are all arounders. They can all sing, rap, dance, produce and write. Third, they have written and produced about 99% of their music. Numbers of songs each member has copyrighted according to Korean Music Association (KOMCA) so far... Bang Chan 184 (#4 in KPop; #1 in 4th Gen) Changbin 156 Han 152 Hyunjin 27 Felix 22 I.N 21 Seungmin 20 Lee Know 17 While they can all do everything they do have 3 different subunits... 3Racha... Bang Chan, Chang Bin and Han which are the main producers. They are always credited as 3Racha. 3Racha Achievements - Four Time Billboard 200 #1 Producers - Hot 100 Hitmakers - 3rd, 11th, 12th Most Credited Idols on KOMCA - Produced Albums Sold Over 20 Million Copies - Japan Hot 100 Hitmakers - 100+ Weeks on Hot 100 Lyricists - 100+ Weeks On Hot 100 Composers - 2023 Asia Artist Awards Best Creator - Makers of Time Magazines 2020 #8 Best Song (their song Backdoor) Danceracha... Lee Know (in charge of leading dance practices), Felix and Hyunjin. They also contribute to the choreography. Vocalracha... Seungmin and I.N While the songs are hype they always have significant meaning to them. Their lyricism is always insane. Since they are so experimental their sound has its own genre and they have a very diverse discography. Example... Gods Menu, Back Door and Case 143 all completely different sounds.

Stray kids are absolute 🔥. An entire army of American STAYS would come out of the woodwork to watch you do deep dives into their discography (i know i would sub in an instant). Kpop is a huge umbrella category with tons of variation and, in general, is way above the standards of current western pop. That being said, stray kids are quite unique in that they write and produce their own music. They struggled at first in korea bc their music tends to be more edgy and can be very experimental. They are masters of mixing sounds and genres and have over 100 songs ranging from hip pop, trap, dubstep, rap, rock, ballads, etc. They have a HUGE international fanbase (only t swift beat them in US album sales last year), and while we all wish we could speak Korean, the language barrier really isn't a significant hurdle. As someone in the comments already mentioned, all of their work can be found on KZitem with subtitles, and there's tons of naturally styled English mixed in. I (as an American pop and boy band hater) discovered them after they won a VMA last year, and i have been a die-hard STAY ever since. You should really check out the mv's😂. God's menu, top line, lalalala, s class, maniac, freeze, easy, thunderous, and the sound are recommendations i would start with, but each of their songs can be HUGELY different, so be forwarned❤.

K-Pop is a bit of a misleading term since it is an industry, not a genre. It's the all encompassing term for Korean groups or solo artists. So the songs can be of any genre, Pop, Hip-Hop, Trap, R&B, Rock, Pop-Rock etc. Stray Kids are amazing and I recommend reacting to the MV for 'Maniac'.

They write & produce 99% of their songs so they create their own unique sounds. For more bangers I recommend: Easy Freeze Topline Megaverse & all the other songs people have requested! 88 rising has worked with other kpop groups. But Stray Kids produces all of their own music so it’s a bit complicated. I’d definitely check out more of their songs, but always check if there is an official music video (they are available on JYP entertainment’s channel), and if none is available, there are creators who upload color coded lyric videos that translate lyrics and show who is singing/rapping at any given time

I don't understand why reactors don't out the official MV or live performance. The MV has Eng subs and so much is conveyed in the MV, that you can't even imagine when just listening to the music only. BTW K-pop has no specific genre - the term actually means, whatever is popular in South Korea at any given time. SKZ (Stray Kids) MVs and performances deserve to be watched, so do yourself a favour and check them out.

IMO music videos can sometimes be pretty distracting and a lot of the live videos don’t have captions. Lyric videos would allow for a greater focus on the music while also giving reactors a chance to see the lyrics

A lot of people are suggesting watching the MVs but tbh I think it’s really nice to see a reactor be able to focus on the song itself without the MV being distracting. There are lyric videos with translated lyrics for a lot of their songs if that is something that’s interesting to you

About Stray Kids: Leader Bang Chan was an idol trainee at JYP for several years. While waiting to debut with a group, he formed a rap group called 3Racha with two other trainees, Changbin and Han. They wrote and produced their own music. JYP gave Bang Chan the highly unusual opportunity to help develop his own idol group (which they did through a reality show, but Bang Chan had WAYYYY more say in picking the members than pretty much any other idol trainee in the industry), and when Stray Kids was formed 3Racha was absorbed into that group. 3Racha still performs on occasion. Several of their songs / videos are posted on KZitem. They write / produce (and often compose/arrange) the vast majority of the music for Stray Kids. Over the years the other members have also gotten involved in writing and production. ---------------------------------- Stray Kids debuted in 2018. They started with 9 (in their early videos, you'll see 9 people performing) but Woojin left in Oct 2019. Stray Kids have been an 8-member group ever since. ---------------------------------- DanceRacha - main dance unit (Hyunjin, Felix (the deep-voiced guy), and Lee Know). But all 8 members dance very well. ---------------------------------- VocalRacha - main vocal unit (Seungmin and I.N). But again, all 8 members have great singing voices and they switch around on lead vocals, depending on the song. ---------------------------------- Main rappers - Changbin, Han, Hyunjin and Felix - but unlike many K-pop groups, all 8 members can and have rapped, depending on the song. ---------------------------------- Languages: Bang Chan (the leader of the group) and Felix (deep-voiced guy) are both Korean-Australian, so English is their first language. The other 6 members speak English with varying degrees of fluency. All 8 members are fluent in Korean and can also sing / rap in Japanese. They often mix Korean/English and Japanese/English in their songs. ---------------------------------- Not all of their music is super hard all the time. Stray Kids also write / sing beautiful ballads and have also written a few songs for K-drama, anime and video game soundtracks. They also collab with / produce for other idol groups and solo artists from Korea, Japan, China, Thailand and the U.S. ---------------------------------- The fandom is called STAY. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just to recap the members (oldest to youngest): Bang Chan - leader of Stray Kids, leader of 3Racha (Stray Kids' writing and production unit), main songwriter, main producer, composer, arranger, vocalist, dancer, rapper on some songs Lee Know - main dancer, choreographer for some of their songs, vocalist, rapper on some songs, songwriter Changbin - member of 3Racha, main rapper, main songwriter, main producer, composer, vocalist, dancer Hyunjin - main dancer, main rapper, songwriter, producer, vocalist (also an artist & some of his paintings have been used as art for their songs) Han - member of 3Racha, main rapper, main songwriter, main producer, composer, vocalist, dancer Felix - main rapper, main dancer, songwriter, large vocal range when singing - deep bass, baritone and high falsetto Seungmin - main vocalist, songwriter, dancer, rapper on some songs I.N - main vocalist, songwriter, dancer, rapper on some songs

S-Class - WON A VMA! God’s Menu - Probably the biggest song that people recommend. The Sound - Japanese song on the their Stray Kids Japan channel. Fam (Korean version) - They introduce each other from youngest to oldest. Hellevator - Predebut - Before they were “technically” a group. Still an amazing song. District 9 - Debut song that is "technically" their first song as the group. Easy Back Door - Times magazine said this was in the top 10 songs of 2020. It was the only K-pop song on the list. Freeze Thunderous Megaverse - Newer song LaLaLaLa - Newer song

Two of the members of this group (of 8 members) are Australian so they put a lot of English lyrics in their songs, and have a few songs that are fully English. All of the members can speak/understand English to a certain degree at this point, since they've been together for 7 years. Kpop is not a genre btw, it's an industry. Stray Kids are known for being experimental since they write/compose/produce all of their music themselves. You should react to their official MV's, then you can put subtitles on and see what they're actually saying, although even then you might not get the full context as they do a LOT of wordplay. Case in point - they've got a new album dropping on the 19th of July called Ate -which is a triple wordplay - Ate as in the slang term 'yeah they ate', Ate - like 8 members, and Ate as in the goddess of mischief and ruin in Greek mythology (the first track unveil Mountains has a lot of mythology references).

Kpop isn't pop. It's a mix of many genres! Mainly pop, hiphop and dance/techno. But there's influences of all genres. It's more like an industry. If someone refers to kpop, it's about someone under that industry, not a genre

I love this reaction! While I do agree about watching MVs for the subtitles because they have great lyrics, I actually love that because you were only focused on the music instead of interpretation, you could really appreciate the details musically like how they even use their flow as part of the buildup fo the drop. They do a lot of very unique and awesome things and it sometimes takes me multiple listens to catch it when watching the MVs because there is so much to take in musically/ visually/ lyrically all at once 😂
