Very professionally done video, not too much talking, just in the right places. Enjoyed.

This reminds me that when we were kids we walked from 17th Ave to the boardwalk along the tracks. Between 7th Ave & the San Lorenz Bridge there was a hobo camp a few yards from the tracks. I always remember how clean they kept the camp & how courteous & friendly they were! Emagine. That was during the steam train days, 1951 & 2 more or less. There was no boat harbor or a road next to the track like now.

The view through the cab windshield on the way back to Santa Cruz is hilarious. It looks like a huge super wide machine is rolling along a tiny narrow gage track!

It'd be great to see regular excursions on the SC&MB from the Boardwalk to past the La Selva Bridge and back.

Do they do excursions during the year? Or only near Christmas?

From 15:32 to 16:09, are those sounds dubbed in from an EMD F7, EMD GP7, EMD GP9 or EMD FL9 in Train Simulator 2017?

A very well filmed and produced video! Can't understand why transients would steal the wig-wag batteries though.

With a screwdriver or a knife they could use the batteries to start a campfire.

Does Progressive Rail have any plans to do a similar kind of service. Or are they just in the freight business?
@TreefrogflagProductions

It is hard to say. Only time will tell. First things first, the line needs to get repaired, and at the speed things are going that is going to take at least 2 years.

Not quite. The line at Watsonville is still used for transfers. Up north however, a washout split the line into 2.

Hi You Guys. Please leave comments at the SCCRTC site for revival of rail service here. We are fighting the NIMBY folks Who dont want rail,only trail.. Thanks

Do they still even run this train?
@chloecover1276

I don’t think so. I went there last year and it looked like the tracks north of the boardwalk were in a bit of disrepair and that was because the company that originally ran the freight operations on the railroad went under in 2020. The line’s also sustained some damage from the winter storms we’ve had in California last year
