Thanks for the great video and info! I was disappointed once I found I could only use "VIRTUAL BACKGROUND" while I am onscreen and to change them out I would have to go off camera and drop microphone, change the virtual background and then come back into the studio. I wanted to use the other background "during broadcast" because I wanted to change out different "GIFs" during the program. The only time I can see the background is when I"m off camera or switching out the virtual background...I had recorded many test videos and only can get virtual background during broadcast...Extremely dissapointed.

Make sure to reach out to StreamYard and offer up your feedback on the green screen feature. It may be a limitation of Chrome seeing that processing happens on the client side rather than on their servers.

Thanks for this however I'm trying to find out how you create the background that is currently behind you (so that your home background is replaced with something else)
@DougHewsonYT
3 жыл бұрын
Set design! never considered content on that, but that's a great idea. For me, I've evolved my filming and live stream set during 2020. What you see behind me is what I started with. What you see there is a cube bookshelf turned sideways with some LED strips and some basic colored lights behind the items on the bookshelf. I have black material hanging behind it. You can make it look however you like, just make sure you have some distance behind you for depth. The distance i had there was probably the minimum you would want, but the more the better to help with depth and lighting. For me its continual trial and error whenever I change things up.

Backgrounds are what sits behind the cameras and screen shares. The recommended size is 1289 x 720 and can be an image file JPG, PNG, etc. of up to 20Mb in size, or a GIF up to 3Mb in size. Upload to Streamyard via the Brand tab under Background - just click the plus sign to add.

How to put it in a landscape mode
@DougHewsonYT
3 жыл бұрын
As soon as you've logged into StreamYard on you phone (assuming you're asking about landscape on a phone) - rotate your phone to landscape. Create your broadcast and allow access to your camera and mic. It should automatically be in landscape because of the phone rotation. Even then, on some devices you can still rotate your phone and the camera will switch over. I might have missed totally what you were trying to ask. If so, feel free to clarify.

@@alexanderson5604 I understand. I guess if you're hosting that KZitem live (embedded) on a site where you can add or use an additional chat functionality like a webinar style hosting location, it could be possible. It does seem like a bit more work to get going and could even come at an additional cost. I'm not aware of a simpler solution, although one could be out there.

How many overlays can I upload during one streaming? And the file size?
@DougHewsonYT
4 жыл бұрын
Great question! Currently, there is a fairly generous upload limit (although they don't share what that is) - currently the size should be set as 1280 x 720 with images a max. of 10Mb, GIFs 3Mb, and VIdeos 100 Mb (with a 5 minute max. runtime).
@subinitamazumder1307
4 жыл бұрын
@@DougHewsonYT thanks! Another question. Is the 100 mb the limit of total uploads or each overlay can be up to 100mb? Actually my organisation is planning a stream and we have quite a few small video files to play that's why I'm asking.

How do I create a overlay that frames people in stream
@DougHewsonYT
4 жыл бұрын
Great question! I've thought about this one myself, and I think if you have a set layout that never changes, say the 2 person side by side wide layout, you could experiment with the right dimensions in Photoshop or GIMP by taking a screen shot of that layout and importing that as a temporary layer and building your design around it. If you use multiple positions and varying numbers of guests, designing a uniform overlay gets more challenging.

Not a specific animated (live) option for overlays. It might be something they will add down the road, possibly as a browser source, or an actual clock of some form.

@@leowilson3915 that's why one of the paid plans is the better option. It costs them money to provide the service, so there's always a trade-off. Conversely, you can play with the relative complexity of OBS 100% free.
