The purple icecream is called ube, it’s purple yam in english. Ube is a common flavor for filipino desserts. Aside from ube icecream we also have ube cake, ube jam, ube rice cakes, ube halaya, ube bread, etcetera.

Most of the time if the ice cream or dessert (baked goods) is color purple, its ube (camote). Thats so cool that you were very generous to the hard-working vendors. Liked and subscribed. 🐻

She was almost correct when she said that the purple icecream is taro, that flavor is ube or purple yam in english. The tubers are usually a vivid violet-purple to bright lavender in color hence the common name purple yam.

4:16 It is ube ice cream. Ube is purple yam. It's a kind of root crop. The other flavor is mangga (in Filipino,). It is mango in English. The mango that we eat with "shrimp paste" is the unripe mango, the green one. And yes, siomai is a Chinese dim sum. Probably, the siomai vendor doesn't know what dim sum is.
