How awesome is this: Nickel Plate Road Heritage Locomotive
Street Running on a coal drag in West Brownsville Pa.
Plus some cool information on Baily Mine buying a large block of
coal from Cumberland Mine and also a new electric power generation
plant that Baily is going to build that will have zero emissions into
the atmosphere!
Norfolk Southern 1021 is an EMD SD 70ACe built 2/2011. 8100 is a
GE ES44AC built 2/2012. Rather rare to see an EMD leader on a coal drag here!
NS likes their GE locos as leaders most typically, at least around here.

I have been coming to W. Brownsville off and on for several years trying to
catch a street runner and this is the first one I have been able to catch.
What a great catch it was with the Nickel Plate Road heritage locomotive.
Origin is Baily Mine, train is headed north to Shire Oaks Yard, but from there
I have no clue as to it's destination.
You might be interested to know that in 2022 Baily Mine processed and sold
23 million tons of coal. All that was shipped via trains and went over this
section of track. Baily has the largest coal prep plant in the USA. That
plant is fed from 3 different mines which make up the Baily complex,
Harvey, Enlow Fork and Baily mines.
