P.s Can you film the entire process about what happens from start to finish at the scrap yard, like the weigh bridge bits and differnt areas of the yard you offload the various metals as to many people i can all be a bit of a mystery as to how the yard knows how to calculate what you have in the van in the different areas? That may make interesting footage for viewers too. Like when i went to one for the first time i didnt have a clue about what would happen once i got there. Maybe you can demystify it and shine some light on that side of scrapping. Cheers for the good vids.

@@user-dp7pe2xz2m Good videos on your channel, interesting on copper and brass extraction and the metal detector too, which is great to have on days out on walkabouts. Where i live, the area is awash with aluminium beer cans ...just pluck n' chuck lol. We like our beer in Medway .

Good video. Did you scrap out that gas BBQ grill? There is cast aluminuim, stainless burners as well as small brass bits inside. I found one that had been dumped in an alleyway where i live. Thought it could be done up like new, but nah, pretty bad condition, so decided to scrap it out instead. One question for you. That bendy silver coloured ribbed flexible pipe on one end,of the burning apparatus do you know if that is stainless or aluminium as its non magnetic? Thanks for any info on that one. Take care and thanks for the videos. and get well soon too.

yea i agree, i mentioned that to him too a couple of weeks back, in a comment after i also half did my back in just scrapping out a tumble drier in the back yard. Rushing the job. Lower back pain, a nasty one. Been on a manual handling course before so kinda know how to lift properly with knees and not the back ete etc, but it can be easy to forget when one is in a hurry. I now just think what i gotta lift and take my time otherwise I'd be stuck in front of netflix for a week recovering lol. . The videos he does are really good.

Do you have to go back on the scales every time after unloading light iron then aluminium etc?
@RiotinlondonW1
2 жыл бұрын
some yards will have you go on one set of scales to get the overall weight in the vehicle, then you off load your iron, then go back over the same weigh bridge scales to get a weight after offloading the iron, then go to a second smaller scales after that to weigh in your non ferrous. That way, the yard has your iron weight in and siimply add the non ferrous to that with the differing prices for each metal. At least that is how it works at the one i go to.
@jamessquire5472
2 жыл бұрын
@@RiotinlondonW1 Thanks for that, wondered how they know what's in the van!
@RiotinlondonW1
2 жыл бұрын
@@jamessquire5472 They also often just ask you what metals you have in the van, then you go and offload from there. How Vandal does it in the video is pretty much how its done. Offload the light, then the after that the clean and shearing followed by the the non ferrous. Different yards may have variations from that, but in general that is the routine so long as the yard gets the weigt of each type of metal from the weigh bridges based on gross vehicle weight from the start.
