Lol perhaps you should have tipped the poor child instead of pondering if you could have negotiated a cheaper deal

This is great! I always used and praised people who still did this in the States and would never hesitate to get an old-fashioned shine in a shop and tip. In France, every town, village and city has a "rétouches" shop. Someone is there to repair and alter clothes. They may even be a full tailor. They can shorten your curtains, et c. Cool video! Uprated.

***** It really is. If I truly do not want shoes or something anymore, we have a local collection outside and people know and come right away and take what they need. The rest is sorted through and disposed of properly (the big furniture is usually able to be repaired or something, even). I was alarmed at first here, FRANCE DID NOT RECYCLE! They thought I was nuts when I pointed this out! sheesh

Not only are those 99¢ sandals hideous, but you could have recorded the actual thing instead, and quit ripping off other people.

I agree you can't get anything fixed for two dollars. You probably paid for the materials and the workmanship was free

USDs are strong in cambodia. The average (minimum) wage is about around 130 dollars a month. Id say he was cheap for asking a $1 off. $2 is a fair price for that work though.
