Jamaica was very safe in the 1930's and even through the 1960's. Then it started going downhill. Not sure about today.

This community needs Black owned and operated and controlled by black people to Compete with the very same competitors who are out cheating the neighborhood. They need to compete very well and decently around that area of Southeast queens. New York and also I would appreciate if somebody takes a stance in the neighborhood and state. What are the devastating problems for Southeast Jamaica Queens NY. with our black youth And all the violence that is happening around the city and the institutions that we need to be implemented in order for the neighborhoods to thrive.. We need Banks Schools, Supermarkets, Hospitals, distribution centers shipping centers places of African assembly of organize and leadership. And also a system in place ,to bring down the statistic drive of African Americans homelessness within our country.

For a Gentification sweep to take its place and for white people to start going back to Jamaica Queens, New York, the Germans, the Italians. They all lived out their Scottish the Dutch. They all lived out in Jamaica Queens, NY it's only a fixer upper for those matters only. I don't see any sufficient and anything for Black people living Jamaica Queens NY to benefit from Economically and Independently Educational resources for our black children in that neighborhood neither.

I grew up in South Jamaica Baisley Park so i remember how things used to be and the train station looks amazing much better then it did back when i was coming up but a ton of stores are gone 165th looks like a ghost town now the coliseum is open but it’s not the same and the Queens president is definitely right the bus station has looked the same since i was a child and i am older then him but it is sad to see it go i will always be proud i am from South Side.

Natasha Williams is another liar. They DID BUILD HOUSING AND ITS ALL UNAFFORDABLE. The Jamaica Plan consists of redesigning the streets to make driving through the district more difficult.

6:04 What just happened here? I guess I'll have to explain, the Jamaica Plan is to ban driving a car on Sutphin Blvd. Even though there are three towers there with big garages and it's main traffic artery that leads to Hillside Ave which includes bus routes.

19:02 So they moved a big bus depot on Merrick Blvd to a smaller area on 165th st which is actually a pedestrian plaza. This is the stupidest idea ever.

I left Queens years ago and I do not regret it. There used to be a lot of nice places that people with an average income could live. But not anymore. Most of those places have now turned into hell, and everywhere else is too expensive to live.

And those residents are on VERGE OF GETTING SQUEEZED OUT of their own neighborhoods. The Canadians that is...😅 The taxes alone will force them to leave and in another 10 years Jamaica will be a pristine MIRROR OF LONG ISLAND CITY OR BROOKLYN HEIGHTS OF TODAY.
