Great car :D very well done sir... just annoyed me that you kept the horrible original steering wheel. i've had 4 Ek4's now and the first thing i did to them all was change the steering wheel. Haha. this isn't me hating dude, just chatting. An EK9 wheel would be a great choice :D Seems like the engine is VERY Healthy :) did you build it yourself. sounds amazing !!

Granny shift in. Cars slow enough could hold it right to the floor and shift with outa lifting.
@juansolo1617
5 жыл бұрын
@@armdrop1oh177 Whatever, dude. You can shift like that with any car, but Honda engines spin up quicker than a V8, so I don't know why you're using them as an example. They have a rod:stroke ratio similar to a motorcycle so they can take revs easier and rev up high very quickly. If you don't shift fast enough and there's no rev limiter in place, you're guaranteed to blow the thing up.

Did I read a b16 head? So b16 type r....? Or b18itr internals on a b16ctr motor? Confused. Nice though lol. Just curious, appreciating.
@B16a2Hatchy

Its the pr3 head off a b16a2 usdm motor. the block is a real jdm type r b18c casting with the type r crankshaft and type r rods mated to usdm b16a2 pr3 pistons putting the compression ratio pretty high.

is this a gsr or type r motor? I mean no disrespect but my civic coupe with a gsr swap seems just as quick. and all it has is some ridiculously ghetto intake with headers to a straight pipe untuned. its mildly gutted as well but I doubt that would make such a huge difference

brad its a type r motor rebuilt higher compression with honda internals. the heads fully built and the blocks sleeved. and on the first run i ran a 14.5 but on the streets it beaten some 13 sec cars. so unless ur gsr is really healthy and tuned good, its hard to tell from a video how fast it actually is, also no pun intended my tuners alil on the heavy side. with just me its a rocket, someday itll be forged and 84mmx87.2. the whale penis is now gone and i have a 3in with bpi vstack much better.

you might have a better power band with 2.5 ..what are you reving to?
@harryazzole7814
7 жыл бұрын
Not true, there's no such thing as an engine needing "back pressure". Motor Trend busted this myth a while back. Bigger, more free-flowing exhausts yield extra power. Period.
@dannyb20vtec28
7 жыл бұрын
Thats not the argument... its WHERE it will make the power....2.5 will give you better trq.low-mid range. 3 inch on a setup like this robs that. sure you may gain top end. But i feel trq is better for a street car.
@harryazzole7814
7 жыл бұрын
dannyb20 vtec Ah, I understand what you're saying now. I agree, a smart diameter exhaust and maybe a shorter exhaust manifold will help in producing more torque.
@dannyb20vtec28

Cristian Lara ya exactly, im running a high comp b20vtec full bolt ons and tune .stock b16a cams..once i do e85 and cams i think 3 inch would be better for my setup
@B16a2Hatchy
7 жыл бұрын
Cristian Lara agreed. I have back to back dyno graphs showing i made power over the whole powerband. Not to mention these engines excell in high reving high rpm power. In racing, once you wind up the engine your constantly in the 7,000-9,000 rpm range so all that "low end torque doesnt even come into play"

why do you put it in neutral at high speed. seems very dangerous to me
@B16a2Hatchy
6 жыл бұрын
Julius Shreck for one down reving is very loud especially with a 3inch exhaust, so im not trying to cause unnecessary attention where we were tuning for an hour. 2 its just my style of driving. I dont down shift to a stop like an obnoxious ricer. 3 what do you find dangerous about coasting in neutral lol. Enlighten me.
@juliusschreck613
6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for getting back... What i find dangerous is going through a corner in neutral or having any kind of emergency avoidance. its always safer to be on the power through a corner than not(unless you enter too fast). I understand when a car is loud and you're trying to be quiet but if i see someone match rev downshifting without their brakes turning on and off meaning heel toe downshifts, i don't think they're a ricer, i think they know how to drive. The most advanced gearboxes on the market don't go into neutral, they match rev downshift.

Darton sleeve for an NA set up... wow it's the best way to kill a fly..!!! Yo😫
@B16a2Hatchy
5 жыл бұрын
Diether Baybay lol whats that supposed to mean. When you have a b18c (real type R) block and you crack a sleeve and cant source out another b18c block. Your only option is sleeves. Not to mention with the already built head, this engine was a set of pistons and rods from being able to handle anything once i planned on going turbo. This engine was originally built to go turbo in the future and i was just having fun with it NA. Do it once do it right. Something a lot of honda owners have no clue about
@skotsephrenia1

@@B16a2Hatchy well if ur going turbo that's an appropriate step to do.. but most people put aftermarket sleeves and stay NA.... not really a logical decision..
@B16a2Hatchy
5 жыл бұрын
Diether Baybay when the motor cost 3k between the fully built head and sleeves there was no more money to go turbo till a later date. So staying na was my only option and it needed a tune to run so i dont know what to tell ya lol. Shit was a legit ass setup until it got stolen and stripped and left on the side of the road.
