This makes me really appreciate the double-walled headers on my z900rs! Though none of my Harleys were ever double-walled, so it was good ole elbow grease and Nevr Dull was my go-to.

Thanks Delboy as always with the Straight to doing the task and honest real world review . I was going to clean the rust off with harpic on my 2015 Daytona . As never been done before. But then wanted to protect it after to prevent rust coming back more to preserve the metal . As its not on show under the fairing .

To this day I still use Brasso. I've also found that Nevr-Dull (yes, that's the correct spelling) is an excellent product for polishing and cleaning all manner of metals. It's a wadding that's impregnated with something (I don't know what), but it works extremely well in my experience.

Lovely results, but I'm afraid I'm much too old ("It's not the years, it's the mileage"- Indiana Jones) to be doing that, yikes. Maybe if I had a garage and bike lift etc., but laying on the pavement or hunched on a milkcrate, nope lol. Hi Alan..Welcome back! It's been a strange time over the last 6 months for all creators.. YT made some massive changes to the algorythms that suggest and recomend videos.. policy changes at the top or somrthing, who knows.. But it has resulted in some odd outcomes.. older videos seem to be getting a boost, and the new content drops off really quick... There's nothing i can do my end to make it any easier, i load every video to give a notification to subscribers, but for some reason, they don't all seem to get them as you said.. I guess all you can do it make sure on your subscription button, that you have the bell icon checked to get the notification for new videos.. Thanks for the feedback, lets hope it figures itself out. !

I use 'Mothers' aluminum polish on the bare alloy section of my rims, also the wadding ( never dull), trick is to keep on top of it-- I detailed my mates Breakout last yr & the rims where the bare alloy is were pitted etc-- took me ages wet/ dry , fine wire wool etc, then Mothers. Harpic is a great product, bought the pipes up lovely 👍

@Moonfleet41 I rate Mothers polish, & am always trying different polishes, in the 70s Solvol was the main one , & was generally a good all round product , detailing has got so technical now , it's a quandary which one to use, I'm lucky in that I quite enjoy detailing , though my back gives up after a while. Soon be Spring Del & nicer riding weather, all the best to you both 👍👍👍

Remember years ago when people used to polish the front door lock and door knocker so much so that the wood around them would get rubbed down. Same for the front step after it had a beating with the pumice stone ?

I think the lace is cotton twill tape. (Oddly enough, I recognized it from my uncle's tailoring shop. It came in spools of various widths.) To speed things up, think I'd get a 2" round of wood, put a bolt through it and chuck it in a drill. Then use a long length of tape loop it around the pipe, tie it and loop it similarly around the wood as the drive wheel. Fire up the drill and it's like a belt driven line shaft polisher. Might work...might be a fail... 😎
