This came up in my Reccomended, never been to sweden but i'd love to visit, seems like you guys love your job, the cleanliness of your city from this angle alone and the care you took in fixing what you had then cleaned up after, its better off than in London.

You are more than welcome to visit Sweden and enjoy this beautiful country. We always strive to do our best when it comes to work. When you're going to work anyway, why not do it one hundred percent? That's how I think, anyway. Every city has its own way of working. Thank you for your words.

What do you do if you attend a light and the fixture is faulty? Like for say the ballast has gone bad and it doesn’t work. Do you change the fitting to an LED?
@Skyworkss
Ай бұрын
We often have spare parts in the car. We repair the luminaire. We do not install an LED luminaire when the others are old. When we switch to LED, we replace the entire street at once. Just to make it uniform.
@lachlanslightsandfans

So there’s no random LEDs put up. It’s only when the entire road gets upgraded?
@Skyworkss
Ай бұрын
It varies from city to city. Here, we don't install single LED lights among the regular discharge lamps. We repair or use spare fixtures. If there are too many repairs needed, the area is prioritized and switched to LED more quickly. There are many different LED fixtures, so we want a uniform and consistent light pattern

impressive in our country they just mostly fix the bulbs and dont bother being as clean about the lights...

What country are you in? Well, there are many who cheat when it comes to cleaning the glass. Personally, I believe one should take pride in their work and do an honest job for their country.

I sadly don’t want these lights to be replaced to led they are blinding can cause cancer and sleep problems
@Skyworkss
Ай бұрын
Yes, I agree. Unfortunately, it is often about savings all the time. LEDs are energy-efficient and require less maintenance, of course. I agree that they can affect sleep due to the blue light in LEDs, but there hasn't been enough research to show that they are cancer-causing.

@@Skyworkss A study led by the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) and involving the University of Exeter found that participants living in large cities with heavy exposure to blue lights at night had double the risk of prostate cancer and 1.5 times higher risk of breast cancer

I agree about LED street lights being blinding. It seems that they don't have enough diffusion. Sometimes the LEDs themselves are within line of sight as you approach them. Together with the new LED street lights that seem to be on full power around the clock it almost requires polarized sunglasses to be bearable at night, but then you can't see into the shadows. I also agree about the sleep issues. They should be warm white not cold white at least in cities. Daylight balance too late in the day will mess upp the circadian rhythm.

varför inte byta ut till led?? dessa lampor kommer förbjudas sen ändå..
@Skyworkss
Ай бұрын

@Skyworkss

It's being switched to LED, but it takes time. And besides, it costs a huge amount. In Sweden, they choose to invest in high-quality fixtures and unfortunately not cheap LED fixtures. Such a fixture can cost at least 8 thousand SEK. But one fine day, everything will be LED. Which country are you from in that case, are you far ahead in development?

@@Ivan_Bugil Oh, okay. I hope you had fun at Eurovision despite all the police presence. It's sad about the war, and I hope it ends as soon as possible. So many innocent people are affected, it's awful. We're also switching to LED, but it's in different stages. Take care.
