Welcome! In this video, I will show you how you can improve your self-esteem and self-confidence with the help of EMDR self-coaching.
Content:
Did you know that the image you have of yourself strongly influences your thinking, feeling, and actions? Your self-image is composed of your self-image, your ideal image, and the image others have of you. The more these three images align, the more authentic you appear and the more you enjoy your life. With EMDR self-coaching, you can harmonize these images and strengthen your self-confidence.
Overcoming Negative Beliefs:
Self-deprecating thoughts like "I am too fat," "My nose is too big," or "I am not smart enough" can significantly affect your life. These deeply rooted beliefs often stem from childhood or negative experiences and negatively influence your self-image and self-confidence. It is important to recognize and question these negative beliefs, as they are often based on distorted perceptions and do not correspond to reality.
EMDR Self-Coaching in 6 Steps:
1. Identify your issue: Think of a negative belief and the corresponding image in your mind.
2. Recognize emotions: Pay attention to the feelings this belief triggers in you. Are you sad, angry, or do you feel something else? Become aware of your emotional reactions.
3. Locate physical sensations: Find out where you feel these emotions in your body. Is it a pull in your stomach, a tightness in your chest, or something else?
4. Intervention with rapid eye movements: Perform rapid eye movements for 20-30 seconds and repeat this step until you feel significant relief or change.
5. Look for residual sensations: Check if any remnants of the original emotions are still present, and repeat step 4 if necessary.
6. Anchor positive thoughts: Think of the negative belief and notice the first positive thought that comes to mind. Anchor this positive thought with slow eye movements.
Conclusion:
These six steps of EMDR self-coaching help you strengthen your self-image and self-confidence by removing the emotional energy from your negative beliefs. They can then be replaced by positive, more realistic beliefs. Try it out and experience the changes for yourself!
