Building new beliefs that stress does not mean you have to experience pain in your body. Building a believe that even when you have stressful times, you can train your brain to leave you alone, and if you do feel pain currently or when stress does arise. Building a belief that your brain is powerful and you can instruct it to leave you alone and you are safe, and get on with your day, the pain can go.
I know I’ve done it and still do it. But be kind to yourself, this takes time and patience, and it’s a 2 steps forward, and 1 back, but over time with trust, you can do the same and free yourself from pain.
Chronic pain, as Dr. Sarno demonstrated, often stems from stress, trauma, and how we approach life. Changing our relationship with pain and life can alleviate it. Many, me included, have overcome pain without invasive treatments.
