My child used the Strider and has just moved on to a Woom 2 now that he just turned 4. It was a great bike for us and we are now loving the Woom. The Strider gave him all the skills to be ready to ride the Woom. He was riding the Woom immediately making me think I could have even switched him sooner had I known. Now my 2 year old is riding the old Strider and loving it as well. I would recommend the Strider to everyone I know because it worked for us.

I'm shopping for my granddaughter who will be two yrs old in May of 2021. I see balance bikes for half the price of a Strider, do you know if they are worth purchasing? I do want the balance bike to last through two children as we have a second granddaughter on the way. But, my first concern is the fit and design of the bike, I want to be sure I purchase a bike that is well designed and a good fit and comfortable for the children to ride on. In your opinion, should I stick with a Strider or do you think the cheaper brands are designed as well as the Strider? Thank you for anything you care to share.

@@sheri4673 the Strider was awesome and I used it for my 2 children. Both learned to ride so well with them that they both easily progressed to the Woom pedal bikes after. My 3 and 5 year olds are great independent bike riders now. I even was able to resell our strider bike after we were finished with it for $45 so it was a great investment for us. I have seen other kids in our neighborhood with other bikes and they didn't seem as successful with getting them riding so I feel like it was definitely something with the design of the bike that helped along with motivation from my kids to actually get the hang of it. Hope this helps!

I've read the Cruzee is better build quality and lighter. Shame there are no UK distributors.

This is really dumb. If you're a healthy parent then you will do what parents have done for decades and that is run next to your kid.

Kids are learning to ride at 2-3 because of these, I don't find that dumb at all.

@@BikeShopGirl Run next to your kid on a real bike... Get your run on... Your kids will appreciate the fact that when you let go of their seat and they are riding on their own, then they will know that you will only let go when they are ready. Riding a bike is more than just getting on it. It is the highlight of their life when they have their own kids and tell them the story "The first time I rode my bike I...". With the balance bike they will remember that mom and/or dad watch me from a distance on a bike with no peddles. Don't be in a hurry to get your kids up and running at 2 because at a blink of an eye you will see them go and you will say I wish I could had..... So yes this balance bike thing is dumb.
