I love the idea of locking down a diamond with two knots. I think that could really help in shaping the channel. Great review Tom!

You may not like a product but wouldn't constructive critisism be the best thing for the company and lacrosse in general? If the company gets feedback from a reliable source, such as yourself, changes will happen and the game will only get better. I don't mean you completely trash a product if you don't like it but even Greg from ECD says things that he doesn't like about products mixed in with good comments. Just a thought. All of your videos are great and informative. Keep it up.

Definitely. I just don't have time to review everything. My reviews aren't always 100% positive, but if I don't like a product overall, I can't bring myself to spend any time or energy making a video on it.

Fair enough like you said you only make a couple bucks off of these videos. If you have any ideas for a product or how to make a certain product better I think the community overall would benefit from that.....Miss the dye videos.

Hi I wanted to start a review channel and I was wondering what you do to contact companies and other important info like that?
@redstarlacrosse
7 жыл бұрын
It's best not to contact companies asking to review their products. I did it once early on, and it just didn't feel right...and they ignored the email ;-) The best thing you can do it to start reviewing things you have, build a subscriber base, and eventually companies will come to you asking you to check out their stuff.

The word "Mark" in this usage refers to a version. Mark I was 'version one'. Mark II, or 2, is then 'version 2'.

I'm a right attack, I love very powerful whip step down shots and I've been using a striking int for a while I got the maverick optic 2.0 and for some reason just didn't like it, from the wide head to I felt like I wasn't getting that feel on the ball I was looking between the mark 2v and 2a, the 2v looks nice but what would you recommend?

I love red star Lax, but to me, this video just sounded like a paid advertisement. He didn't talk about and downsides to the head really at all. I personally picked up one and didn't like the bottom string at all and felt that there were almost too many sidewalls holes that I did not use.
@redstarlacrosse
7 жыл бұрын
I really wish I could get paid to do this ;-) I just really love this head. I have no problems with any of it. The bottom holes don't take anything away from the head in my opinion. Anything I could normally do with regular bottom holes I can do with this, but now there is more opportunity for creativity.
@maxtownsend6510
7 жыл бұрын
Yeah I agree but in the same aspect I could definitely call this a confusing head 1. The bottom string was changed for no reason (to me) whatsoever, I always felt like the standard big 4 holes were plenty good enough for any mesh/traditional pocket you were looking for. 2. I also thought that the joule wasn't as easy to use as you said. If you have a regular shaft you have to drill a hole into it just for this feature to be assessable (Not Easy for young kids to do). Also with shaft shape, if you are using a head that doesn't properly fit the plastic in the first place your still gooing to have to go the tape route.

Thanks for the feeback Max! Your reaction to the sidewall holes is one we've been getting a lot. But as he said in the video, if the extra holes don't weaken the head, then what's to complain about? Sure you might have to find a pattern that works, but it should be much easier to do that with more holes. To us, saying there are too many holes is like saying there are too many channels on TV. You might know the handful of channels that you'll probably watch. You might not watch a lot of them on a regular basis, and you'll probably never watch some of them. But a lot of other people might watch those channels you wouldn't even turn on. And just because you don't think you'll use them doesn't mean they shouldn't be there. You might stumble upon a channel and fall in love with it. Just like you might change the sidewall pattern a little bit and realize you love it. Everyone likes a slightly different pocket (no matter how slight the differences are) and more holes give you a better chance to string up exactly what you want. Any more insight into what you didn't like about the bottom holes?
@maxtownsend6510
7 жыл бұрын
Yeah thanks for the response, I actually bought the mark 2v because I really enjoyed the scoop and shape of the head (And the only head from a stringing company at the time). I loved the head and put it on my gamer for a little and loved it. I agree with you guys 100 percent on the concept of more sidewall holes, my concern is that durability over time because something I face with heads is that sidewall holes will break due to flex and stress. Because I would much rather have 5 fewer holes if it meant way more durability. On the bottom string and joule. I thought that you guys just tried to add features to this head that were almost unsessary, the head rattle is something that is annoying and irritating. To me though the joule is not the way to go because it is just something that is not and a lot of kids is not willing to do. When it comes to drilling holes into a shaft its pretty scary and was something people really would have a hard time with. The bottom holes just felt out of place, again to me 4 holes is enough and I have been able to put any bottom string I want on them with traditional or mesh. It just seemed like you guys were adding holes into the head when it didn't need them
@StringKing

The bottom holes are much better for trad. We got design input from prominent members of the trad community and from all the feedback we've gotten the bottom holes are the best available for effective and creative tie offs. They also provide a little room for creativity with a bottom lace, or you can pretty easily do something standard. We probably did provide more options than any one particular player is likely to use, but this is so we cold cater to as many people as possible. We hear what you're saying about all the options being a little confusing though. The locking bolt is definitely where the complaints are the most warranted in our opinion. While it is effective and fairly easy to use, it's not as simple as a regular screw. If you want to use the Mark 2V with a non-Metal 2 shaft, you either have to take a couple steps to drill another hole or you can leave a small hole on the front of your head as you use a regular screw on the back. We don't think either of those options are crazy, but we definitely understand they're more steps that not everyone is going to want to take. But honestly, thank you for the feedback. It's really important for us to hear constructive criticism and not just positivity all the time. Hopefully our responses show a little bit where we were coming from and don't just seem like we're arguing with you!
