as an american, have to say the screwdriver was dangerous because you used a flat headed screw. Phillips, square or a torx would of been much safer. Like the idea, kind of curious why didn't you go the traditional route with a marking gage? I usually see people putting a knife on the end of one of those, and it won't take up as much space. I've had thoughts of going to other countries just to bring back the tools, due to the safety consciousness, they've put us under.

This is a great replacement solution compared to the wonky plastic one i bought from micro-mark. The plastic one doesn't have the weight to hold a straight line. Another one of your 'instruments' I am going to have to make.

As an American and a Texan usually only the ones worried about getting sued are concerned with safety. The rest of us only hurt ourselves taking the safety guards off. Te world would be a better place without lawyers my friend. And love your videos, straight talk, and awesome solutions. I tip my hat to ya sir!

Hi Philip! Nice channel you have here! I like the way you show and explain how to build a lot of stuff. I'm learning from you a lot. I have a future project to build my own lathe. I have seen a lot of "How to build a strip-cutter", but yours is the best way to make it. You teach us how to recycle the things we already have without wasting anything or even money. Thank a lot! Love your puppets too they look cool. Keep the good work. We need people like you in the internet.

If ever there is a chance that you have made something I have already seen elsewhere, I 'm sure to find that YOU have a KISS system to produce the same item ! Thanks , and I'm not from Scotland. But try to think like one. I enjoy your stuff. G.W.S.

Oh, Thanks for the explanation :). Yes, I tend to be a bit of a minimalist, reduce things to their most basic concepts and work with that. Once you have the basic concepts, you can start to mix and combine concepts to come up with something from another point of view.

You need to turn the music up louder. That way, it drowns out your entire voice instead of just every other word and viewers will click out sooner. . You're welcome....

Yes, you did watch it...and also, youtube now compresses audio which ups the background music and downs the dialog, yes it sucks. Also check what sound system you have. Modern ones tend to destroy older youtube audio even more as they were made with budget speakers in mind. This is an older video, made back in the days when tutorials were not required to be Hollywood productions like today. And even so, almost 80 thousand views by now, is not bad. Did you learn anything by watching it? That was the purpose of it.
