Dealing with the exact same issue with my bike rn. Hopefully I can get it off without having to fork out another $150 on new cranks.

Did some chump over torque the pedals during installation? That was a great video!

To say the least, this whole bike was a TOTAL disaster. To think my buddy said the bike purchased, assembled and maintained by a bike shop in phoenix Arizona. He literally sent it to me because he always felt like something was off. I was like "Dude, this whole bike is off" 😁 I could've, and should've, made a years worth of "what not to do" videos just on this bike! 😉

I always add a dap of waterproof grease on all threaded surfaces.

That's excellent advice, especially for people who don't service their parts annually. it's amazing how something so simple can avoid potential a nightmare.

That's the plan! At least until the day my girlfriend breaks a bike over my head for spending so much time with them. 😁

Thanks. Still lots to learn making them but were slowly improving.. funny you mention wd40, I can't find my can, nor can I find the penetrating oil.. I know I have one somewhere, my guess is they're in a box, which probably in another box. I really need a bigger place 😉

@@zoubtubeSea-foam Deep Creep is the best penetrant I have used. You can pick it up at any auto parts store

How on earth do you strip an 8mm allen? Smaller ones are easy, but I've never had an issue with anything 5mm or bigger!

Actually my buddy stripped it. The pedal was so seized, that the metal literally smeared when he tried removing it. The other one was tough but it came out.

What brand of shaft clamps are that?

My apologies for such a late response. I bought the ones in the video from an eBay shop. I guy out of Canada makes them. Though pricey, they are precise, solid, well-marked, and come with magnets (which is a real plus for me). Here is a link. www.ebay.com/itm/115153412361?var=415219180268 Others out there sell similar clamps for a bit less, but chances are they won't be as full-featured as these. Plus, I use these enough to justify the extra expense
