If you have hemiplegia (weakness on one side of the body) you may be using a compensation strategy to get up out of a chair. If so, there IS a better way. In this video you will learn the BEST progression to learn how to stand up from a chair using a “facilitation” strategy. This will help you to regain normal movement in the weaker leg.
It is so important to remember that as the brain is healing, your brain will develop NEW pathways. If you compensate with the stronger side of your body, you miss out on the opportunities to gain new pathways on the damaged side of the brain.
This progression will teach you how to use your weaker leg in an easy to follow progression regardless of where you are at in the recovery process.
