Hi guys. In this video, we have explained how to asess, evaluate & diagnose a case of stroke.
In our first part of stroke, we discusseed the types, causes, & symptoms of stroke. Do watch the first video if you haven't, so as to get the basic idea about the presentation of a stroke patient before proceeding with this video.
Stroke should be considered a medical emergency requiring the same care as does a heart attack. Unfortunately, the time that elapses before medical attention is sought is still a cause of delay in the treatment of stroke patients. Despite public and professional education programmes, stroke awareness in the general population, and even among general practitioners, is poor.
Various scales & scores are used whenever we are evaluating a patient who presented with symptoms suggestive of stroke. In this video, we have discussed which score is commonly used in our clinical practice.
Various diagnostic tests are available. Which one to do first and the importance of specific tests have been discussed in this video.
