I get bad bad extremely bad Gerd... It burns so bad that feels like my body is burning.. also my pulse rate goes up ans I feel so hot.. I am watching this video while suffering... In my country it is 4:30am and I am still awake due to the intense buring and suffocation. I am taking Dexlanprazole 60mg as ppi, Rantac 300mg as H2 inhibitor, also Acotinamide 300mg for increasing motility. Then also I keep facing nights like this... I don't understand why... I can't go to any restaurant and eat anything at all these days. Just clear soups that's it. Boiled kind food at home... I am only 31... I don't know what to do. I have seen many gastroenterologists...

Crystal, I've followed you for years and most of your information has helped me with my gastroparesis so I'll definitely try these since you use them and they've helped you. I get a lump in my throat . Also, you just said something that stopped me in my tracks. Every evening I'm always congested and am so stuffy it is hard to breathe. I just realized when you said you get congested that it happens to me after I eat. Do you know what makes this happen? It drives me crazy. And, like you, i have reflux but PPIs have never worked. I didn't realize all of this could be from my GP. I'm on my way to these websites now to order these products. It's too bad they aren't affiliate links for you. Thank you for telling us about these products and your symptoms. I think it's provided answers that my doctor hasn't been able to answer. AGAIN!! 😊

I'm so glad this was useful information for you and I hope the products are helpful! Definitely update and let us know since I'm only a sample size of one at this point. As far as the symptoms after eating, it could be reflux related or perhaps histamine related (that is a rabbit hole itself!) but I'll be interested to know if that's something that gets better for you with either of these supplements.

Thanks so much for sharing ♥️. Reflux is my main symptom too, and ppi’s don’t help me.

Do you also take a prescription drug as well for your reflux?
@csaltrelli

I don't! I should've mentioned that in the video. I took very high doses of PPIs for many years and they never took care of my symptoms. I think likely because, for me -- and I think probably for many people with GP, it's not an issue of too much acid. Rather, it's an issue of the stomach contents being outside of the stomach and into the esophagus/upper respiratory tract, which acidic or not are still going to be irritating to those structures. I did try PPIs again not too long ago but it was giving me stomach pain and making my other gastroparesis symptoms worse so my GI doc and I agreed that's just not the solution for me. That said, I do believe you can take both of these while on a prescription reflux meds. I'd double check with your doctor but that's what their websites say. Hope that helps!

Due to nausea, swallowing pills is not often an option. Can you say what items you eat? Just examples please!

You can open Heartburn capsules and mix with warm water and drink according to the Arrae website. Just an FYI for those who have trouble with capsules. I know sometimes they take a long time to dissolve in my stomach, so I'm actually going to be experimenting with that, as well. I follow a similar gastroparesis-friendly diet to what I recommend in my resources, so mostly low-fat, lowish fiber, smaller meals with a focus on nutrition. I don't think it's super helpful to share exactly what I eat because there is no one size fits all diet that works well for people with gastroparesis. My diet is also limited by factors that others likely don't have -- for example, my daughter has life-threatening milk, egg, and nut allergies, so we don't eat any of those in our house. I would eat differently if that weren't a factor. I'm also sensitive to certain FODMAPs, which not everyone is, and I no longer have a gallbladder, which impacts what I eat but doesn't apply to everyone. That said, some of my staples are things like chicken breast, ground turkey, potatoes, rice, quinoa, sweet potatoes, carrots, smoothies, soups, MacroBars. Lots more about diet on my website: www.livingwellwithgastroparesis.com/blog?category=Diet%20and%20Nutrition Hope that helps!

@csaltrelli yes it helps. Thank you for taking the time to answer. I'm not diabetic and do not have a gallbladder. I also have hereditary hemochromotosis. I have been dealing with this for 7 years. I have not found a good protein powder for shakes. I have tried a few things but still a big learning curve. My goodness, I have eaten chicken every way but fried lol and turkey and some fish. I get nervous when my hair falls out or thins, among other things. I have found there is way more to this than they tell you. Thanks again!!

Finding a good protein powder/shake is so challenging. I've literally thought about trying to crowdfund the development of one that would work well for those of us with GP!

@@csaltrellihi. What macrobars do you find to be easier to digest?
@csaltrelli

@Kukkema I eat the peanut butter chocolate chip and the chocolate peanut butter chip. I also eat the sunflower butter flavors, but I find those cause more constipation and a little more reflux for me. My daughter has nut allergies so I avoid all of those, but I used to eat the almond butter ones and did well with them, as well.

Hi! No, that didn't become necessary for me. Getting the gastric neurostimulator implanted helped me enough that I was able to start restoring my nutrition with food.

The Khelp is expensive. Couldn’t get price of other because they want your email address. No.

For sure -- as I said in the video, the cost is definitely the downside. I pay $44 for 90 capsules of the Heartburn on a recurring subscription twice a month and $49 for the Khelp once a month. So definitely not cheap but, for me, it's worth it since it works so well.
