I became a Strung Out fan thanks to you when I saw your Solitaire cover. The day after I heard it, I look up the Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues and listened to the whole thing. They are my favorite band now and that is my favorite of their records. Awsome cover🙌

Dear god! What a cover. The sound, the strumming was perfect. Brilliant. Strung Out was one of the bands that got me into playing guitar at a young age. There is something about the band and the sound that you captured perfectly. Cheers! Brought a smile to my face and all of the friends that I shared this link with with today. Incredible. Cheers

@90sPunkRockCovers

Thank you. It's all downpicking, I'd say to build your wrist strength start with a heavier gauge pick and strings. Start slow down strumming and increase speed as you build up stamina.

I love that particular album but I find a lot of their songs a little difficult for me to play. I'm sure if I practice them enough I would get them but I'm a little lazy when it comes to learning their more technical songs. Having said that...I'll see what I can do.

Man digging your channel been binge watching and liking for a few weeks! Thanks for sharing your talents and teaching us some great riffs. Bro your gear!? Do you own all of these killer Les Pauls? I just bought my first Les Paul Classic Player Plus with P90s after being a tele guy. I’m switching they honestly make me a better player. Cheers. Keep ‘em coming! Would love to see some Lagwagon something off Hoss one day👍🏼👍🏼

Awesome!! It took me until last year to figure the intro to this song out properly from watching live footage. The tabs have always been wrong. But I learnt a few picking chugs I was missing watching your video so thanks for that. Rob's riff when the drums come in after the intro of Somnombulance is another one that has me stumped if anyone knows it? Anyway great job as always

That's great man. Glad my video helped you figured it out. I don't trust online tabs, they are hit or miss (mostly miss). I trust my ears to learn these songs as close as possible and taught myself to play guitar this way instead. Cheers 🥃

Haha, I think they were using a Rectifier when they recorded this album so I wanted to keep it as "original" as possible, but I could be wrong. I know a lot of the Fat Wreck bands were using and recording with Rectos in the mid to late 90s.

Stupid Question I used to know a bunch of strung out songs in the 90's but getting older its really like the metal pop punk band for guitar, so my question work on speed again??? or what do you reccomend?
@90sPunkRockCovers
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, this one was a little challenging for me. I find their stuff a little on the difficult side for me to play. I guess work on your down picking and strumming, they also do a lot of hammer ons and those can be a little tricky for me to play sometimes.
@samson6707

are you in standard tuning? i looked at a tab that had this song one whole step tuned down?
